British Safety Council believes that no one should be injured or made ill through their work and staff wellbeing forms the foundation. To address this, British Safety Council has launched its unique new health, safety and wellbeing programme, Being Well Together, to help employers support their employees to thrive wherever their workplace is. The British Safety Council defines wellbeing as “an ind
ividual’s ongoing state which enables them to thrive” and have adopted the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) domains of wellbeing to base the development of Being Well Together on. Areas include health, good work, values & beliefs, relationships & voice and personal growth pillars. Being Well Together is a one-stop-shop for everything organisations need to adopt, develop and implement a successful health, safety and wellbeing programme. It recognises that every organisation is unique and at different stages of their wellbeing journey. It supports the provision of appropriate, tailored solutions, and where appropriate, signposting to reputable and vetted partners such as Sussex Mindfulness Centre - part of the NHS, Mercer Marsh Benefits, Think Talk Together – powered by Mates in Mind and the National Counselling Society. Offering a wealth of easily accessible online and offline resources, covering all aspects of health and wellbeing from nutrition, mental health and financial fitness, to best practice health and safety information through to videos, training, guides, posters and assessment tools to benchmark performance; including counselling services and 24-hour helplines. The Being Well Together Programme will adapt to any organisations’ health, safety and wellbeing needs even if they have existing provisions in place.
