Are going through a flare up?

Please don't despair and try not to blame yourself. Flare up do happen from time to time. I understand how frustrating and annoying you feel right now.

Here some tips:

👉 Drinking water may help to ease digestion
👉 Self-Care: Spend some quality time on yourself
👉 Sleep is essential for gut healing
👉 Deep breathing helps to stimulate your vagus nerve
👉 Spacing meals will help your MMC work effectively
👉 Wear loose clothing so you don’t constrict your abdominal area
👉 Eliminate your personal triggers.
👉 Avoid Intense Workout - give yourself a break!
👉Watch a comedy - this usually helps me reduce stress 😁

Are you looking for easy FODMAP swaps? Save this post for later 📲

🍯 honey is high in fructose and can swapped for maple syrup. Use a 1:1 ratio when replacing honey with maple syrup. If the recipe requires 2 tablespoons of honey then use 2 tablespoons of maple syrup.

🧄Garlic can be swapped out for wild garlic or garlic-infused olive oil. Wild garlic can be chopped and sprinkled onto food to give that garlic taste.

🧅Onions can be swapped out for chives or the green parts of spring onions.

🍌Ripe bananas are high in oligofructans, while unripe bananas are low in oligofructans and are considered Low FODMAP. However, 1/3 of a ripe banana (33g) may be tolerated.

Research have shown that 84% of the population suffer from .

People living with SIBO don't just endure a bit of stomach pain. They have to live with

➡️ Fear of leaving the house
➡️ Abdominal pain
➡️Fear of food
➡️Stress
➡️Anxiety
➡️Bloating

SIBO also impacts the relationship with their family, spouse, partner and work colleagues.

SIBO sufferers will generally hope that no one notices their symptoms and deal with the burden of SIBO alone.

I would suggest you prioritise your mental health and wellbeing by opening up about your symptoms. You may be surprise by the support you receive from the people around you.

How to tell whether you have SIBO?

SIBO stands for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and this occurs when the bacteria normally present in the large intestine starts growing in the small intestine.

Similarities between IBS and SIBO are:

- bloating,
- constipation
- diarrhoea
- fatigue
- gas and belching
- deficient in vitamin D and B12

However, the following signs means you may have SIBO

🤰🏻bloating straight after eating
💨 foul gas smell
🥬 fermented food makes symptoms worse
💊 probiotics makes symptoms worse
🦠 symptoms started after food poisoning
😊 feeling better on Low FODMAP

Does living with SIBO feel like a constant battle? Share you thoughts below 👇.

Dealing with SIBO is not simply adding probiotics to your diet and hoping for the best. Working out how to manage your SIBO is going to take time and it will NOT happen overnight. Some of us probably can't remember when we last felt normal with no gut issues.

Many clients have express their concerns that their SIBO is ruining their social life due to them feeling embarrassed and explaining to their friends why they can't eat certain foods.

Do Not Waste Your Money! I am in fact referring to the IgG food intolerance test. This test is used to measure the resulting antibody (IgG) from the food you eat. However when you consume food, your body produces a small amount of IgG antibodies to help you digest the particular food therefore IgG antibodies are elevated. Suggesting that you are NOT intolerant to this food but that your body recognises the food that your are eating.
