The official intro for be announced the winner of this prestigious award within the Mini First Aid network of amazing people who want to spread the importance of caring for your loved ones and making workplaces safe.

I’m still buzzing to have been the recipient and will always be grateful for finding this opportunity with MFA, I 💚 all of the franchises and friendships this has brought me.

Special thanks to Kate & Matt as you guys are the best and what a huge impact you have made to the UK with this little idea that started in your kitchen!!

The Childrens Burns Trust, I’m in awe of the amazing ways you help families and children and your continually awareness you raise 💚

“Every year, so many of our franchisees go the extra mile, making this one of the toughest awards to judge. From supporting one another behind the scenes, to delivering exceptional classes, representing Mini First Aid at events, and contributing to important partnerships like the Children’s Burns Trust—our network continues to go above and beyond in so many ways.

This year in particular, we’ve seen incredible examples of teamwork, personal growth, and unwavering support for one another. The impact of these efforts reaches far beyond individual businesses and truly strengthens our entire network.

This year’s winner has made a truly meaningful impact through their dedication and passion, particularly in their support of the Children’s Burns Trust. Their commitment to raising awareness, supporting this important cause, and championing the partnership has gone far beyond expectations.

They are a fantastic ambassador for Mini First Aid, consistently demonstrating generosity, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to make a difference”

Not all signs are obvious. Some are quiet, subtle and easy to miss when you’re running on little sleep and just trying to get through the day.
As parents, we’re constantly told “every child develops at their own pace”, and that’s true. But it’s also okay to notice when something feels different.
Autism can present in many ways, especially in young children, and early signs aren’t always obvious. Some things to gently look out for include:
Not responding to their name
Limited or no eye contact
Not smiling back when you smile at them
Becoming very upset by certain sounds, smells or textures
Repetitive movements like hand flapping, rocking or finger flicking
Delayed speech or talking less than other children their age
Less interest in pretend play
Repeating the same words or phrases
Seeing one or even a few of these signs doesn’t automatically mean a child is autistic, but noticing patterns over time is important.
Trust your instincts. You know your child better than anyone.
If you do have concerns, you’re never wasting anyone’s time by asking for advice. Speaking to your health visitor, GP or special educational needs (SENCO) staff at your child’s school can help you get reassurance or the right support early on.
At Mini First Aid, we’re here to give you confidence, not just in emergencies, but in understanding your child and knowing when to seek help.
You’re doing an amazing job 💚

And the winner of the “Above & Beyond Award 2026” 🏆

I honestly can’t put into words how grateful and proud I feel to have been nominated — and to win — at our annual conference 💚

Nearly 7 years ago, our son had a horrific accident in a café. At just 9 months old, he reached for a teapot and suffered scalds to over 13% of his tiny body. Seeing our baby in that much pain and distress was a living nightmare.

The guilt and shame I felt as a first-time parent were overwhelming — like being hit by a truck. I didn’t want to leave him with anyone. I became incredibly protective, replaying everything over and over, blaming myself for something that happened in a split second. It stayed with me for months.

Two years later, his recovery was more than we could have hoped for, and I found myself at a crossroads in my career. With my husband’s unwavering support, I followed a growing desire to help other parents feel prepared in an emergency. Together, we put everything into building

Over the past 4 years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful parents, grandparents, and children in schools and nurseries — as well as training workplace teams across our community.

To now be recognised for something I care so deeply about means everything. Supporting a small, non-government funded charity that does such incredible work for families and burn survivors is truly a privilege. will always hold a special place in my heart 🧡

A special thank you to Jo for presenting the award — your dedication over the years has been such an inspiration.

And thank you to every single person who has supported the charity, booked a class, or trusted me to teach you how to keep your loved ones safe. Your kind words and feedback mean more than you know.

This is the first award I’ve ever won — and without a doubt, the most meaningful one 💫

S.A.D = Seasonal Affective Disorder
Key Aspects of SAD:
The main symptom of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is depression that happens in the winter and goes away in the summer.

Some people have depression symptoms in summer instead, but this is less common.

Symptoms of seasonal affective disorder include:

low mood
a lack of interest in things you usually enjoy
feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
feeling restless or irritable
difficulty concentrating
being more hungry and eating more than usual
being more tired and sleeping more than usual
thoughts of su***de or self-harm
Some people also have a period of feeling more energetic than usual at the start of spring or summer.

Hopefully we are all feeling more ‘spring’ in our step as we move into the spring months ☀️ 🌺 😊

‼️ Choking prevention starts long before the food ever reaches your child’s mouth.

One of the most powerful things you can do to reduce the risks and severity of choking is prepare foods in a way that supports safe chewing and swallowing. Foods like grapes, sausages and bananas can be higher risk when served in round slices. Cutting them lengthwise changes how they move through the mouth and throat.

This simple step helps prevent food from blocking the airway and allows air to pass if food does momentarily catch, giving your child more time to clear it themselves.

Small changes in food preparation can make a big difference to safety and confidence at mealtimes.

Save this post if you’re weaning now or planning to start soon! 💚

Stair gate ✅ cupboard locks ✅ high-chair straps ✅ purse.....😬

You might think you have it covered when it comes to babyproofing your home. It’s common sense, right?

You install the baby gate, you make sure your high chair has the right straps, you fit locks on the cupboard doors...but what about the coins in your purse or wallet? What about the paracetamol you leave in your handbag or bedside drawer? What about that TV remote control with the easy-open battery compartment?

There are so many everyday objects and items in our house that could pose a risk to our baby or toddler - a risk of choking, poisoning, burning, cutting, or falling.

Accidents will happen, and we can’t always prevent them, but we can be as careful as we possibly can when it comes to everyday items in our household that our curious toddler or explorative baby might get hold of.

Take a look around your home today. Are the tall bookcases and cupboards fixed to the walls, are your hair straighteners out of reach, is your handbag or purse somewhere that your child could easily reach?

You don’t know what you don’t know when it comes to baby and child safety. Take a look at our babyproofing safety classes and check out our Mini First Aid baby & child first aid classes so that you can firstly prevent an accident happen, and secondly, know how to treat it if it does!

Find out more on our website - entering your postcode will show you all available classes in your area. Link in comments 💚
