Oestrogen dominance in men is increasingly common.

Obesity and our constant exposure to xenoestrogens (endodrine distruptors) are causing excess levels which is decreasing testosterone levels further.

🌱 Add these foods to your diet to reduce excess oestrogen levels:

Oysters contain high amounts of zinc, which prevents hypogonadism (reduced testosterone production)
Leafy greens such as spinach and kale contain high levels of magnesium linked to increased testosterone levels.

This is a day in which we celebrate those who are brave enough to start their own venture from the ground upā¬†ļø

Here at DNA, we know all too well the ups and downs of starting a business from scratch and the journey of keeping it alive.

DNA was created out of Co-Founder Sheldon's personal battle with testosterone deficiency, which led him to experience a lack of libido and decreased drive and ambition.

After searching for a solution, Sheldon realised that there was a lack of support for men in his situation, which led him to create a men's hormonal health supplement brand with his wife and naturopathic nutritionist, Bertie.

We are incredibly proud of how much our company has grown. Since launch, we have released a new female product, and we can't wait for what else is in store for DNA.

Testosterone is meant to naturally taper off with age (as does oestrogen in women). Declining at 1% - 2% from age 30 but there are now many other factors that are causing testosterone levels to drop and global levels are decreasing year on year.

Worryingly, this is happening at a much quicker rate and also seen a sharp increase in younger men.

Studies have shown that low amounts of the hormone have been associated with chronic disease, even among men 40 years of age and younger.

Decreased testosterone levels can be caused by chronic illnesses and genetic diseases; certain types of medication; injury to the testicles; chemotherapy and pituitary gland disorders or tumours.

While we often think of our s*x lives and health habits as different entities, the two are undeniably intertwined.

By prioritising sleep, stress management, nutrition, hydration, exercise, and other key holistic health practices, we can support mental, physical, and crucially, s*xual health.

It’s tough to get sufficient sunlight exposure during the dark, short days of winter. Bundling up when we do go outside in the winter sun leaves little skin exposed for cutaneous vitamin D production.

But what does that mean for our libido?

Vitamin D is actually a steroid hormone – therefore it’s no real surprise that it plays such a critical role in s*xual health as it’s a building block of other hormones, in particular testosterone!
