Iyengar Yoga London has been welcoming yoga students and teachers since B.K.S. Located in Maida Vale, ten minutes from central London, our bright and spacious studios are open daily with classes for all levels from complete beginners to more advanced practitioners. As a charity, we run on a not-for-profit basis with a commitment to offering affordable yoga to students of all ages. Join us in the studio and online for classes with our exceptional team of experienced teachers.

The main focus of this STUDIO workshop will be an exploration of the preparatory asanas and actions towards the practice of several hand balancing asanas.

Suitable for practitioners who have been attending Intermediate classes regularly for at least 2 years and who are able and willing to work with a bit more intensity.

This workshop is unsuitable for anyone who is injured or who is menstruating.

Janu Sirsasana is a forward seated bend beneficial to all levels. It's a wonderfull pose for stretching the hamstrings, opening the hips and calming the mind. Best preformed towards the end of practice.

This is the way to take judgment and to turn it into improvement. Do not look at others' bodies with envy or with superiority. All people are born with different constitutions. Never compare with others. Each one's capacities are a function of his or her internal strength. Know your capacities and continually improve upon them."

~ From Strength to Subtlety
Ayesha's workshop explored ease in Chaturanga and supported postures that move us beyond simply ‘doing’ the asana.

We observed Mulabandha Kriya in inversions, explored Svasayam - breathing techniques, cleansing Nadi Kriyas, and moved through silent chanting at each chakra.

A beautiful reminder that yoga is as much about awareness as it is about action.

From Pune this week, the community at RIMYI gathered to honour Sage Patañjali — the source and symbol of Yoga’s unbroken lineage. Offerings were made to the sage and to Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar, whose work continues to illuminate the path.

Prashant invited reflection on the horizon of our practice, asking us to consider what it means to move beyond the polarities of praise and blame, gain and loss, valour and villainy.

A reminder that Yoga calls us to find the unbroken thread of practice amid seemingly opposed phenomena — and to rest in that which neither rises nor falls.
