Did you know that the heat can affect our physical and mental health?
You may find you need to take extra care of your health during heatwaves and hot temperatures. Very hot weather may also affect our mood, whether or not we're taking medication. For example, we may be struggling with sleeping difficulties at the moment. And for many of us, the heatwave may make us more aware of and anxious about the climate emergency.
Tips for taking care of your health during hot weather:
1. If you are taking medication for your mental health check the Patient's Information Leaflet in your medication box for side effects and speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have any questions.
2. Drink lots of water, sit in the shade and wear the correct SPF.
3. Be kind to yourself if you're finding things difficult and limit how much news you are reading, if you're feeling worried.
