Best. Salmon. Ever!!!!
Pretty sure my husband married me for this salmon lol. It’s super easy, perfect every time, and I always get compliments on it.
Growing up, we never ate fish. Most of what we ate came out of a box or can. I had to learn how to cook fish if and glad I did.
Season your salmon with whatever floats your boat. This is a steakhouse seasoning blend. Whatever you use, don’t be afraid of it. Get some flavor in there.
Then get some oil HOT in a cast iron pan. Sorry, this doesn’t work as well in those coated pans. You want your oil kinda smoking hot—to the point that people think you forgot about the pan.
Put your salmon flavor side down, skin side up in the pan and don’t touch it for 5-7 min. You want that beautiful seared crust. After that time, flip over and immediately turn down the heat to low. Squeeze the juice of a fresh lemon over your fish and then cook about 12-15 minutes depending on how thick the pieces are.
That’s it. Perfect every time
