Today we were in The City of London Cemetery and had a look at the recently cleared & beautifully restored natural pond within the two acres of wild woodland at the heart of the cemetery

This is a natural oasis for wildlife and If you sit still for a moment, the place comes alive

This is a hidden gem thats very much worth a visit

Direct Cremation is growing in popularity in the UK, and the Good Funeral Guide CIC is keen to learn more as the funeral and bereavement landscape changes.

There is very little research in this area, and we really want to understand more about any impact that direct cremation has on bereaved people.

This informal questionnaire is designed for those who have experienced someone close to them having a direct cremation (i.e. where nobody attended the coffin's committal at the crematorium).

Tucked away in the 32 arces of memorial gardens within the vast City of London Cemetery, the beautiful Ornamental Pond is home to a family of sun worshiping Red Eared Terrapins. They have been there as long as I can remember!

The much underused Traditional Chapel at The City of London Cemetery & Crematorium

This was the original crematorium and opened in 1904, but was superseded by the Modern Crematorium in the early 70's

Behind the crematorium is a beautiful ornamental pond with Red Eared Terrapins in residence 🐢

I finally got round to hanging a piece of art my Aunt made

My Aunt created a beautiful version of Dylan Thomas's

'Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night'

In the most elegant illuminated calligraphy

This took her many, many months to make, for which I am so very, very grateful 🙏
