“On Wednesdays we wear pink”. Chemo number 4 done and dusted! Just about 12 hours gate to gate, and ready to say see ya later to the month of November. This treatment day was made extra cozy, thanks to my fashionable good luck socks from Lois, my majorly cuddly blanket and sweet treats from Ethel, some good eats and a visit from Stace, and as always my dedicated cold capping helping hands. Can’t say I was looking forward to this treatment, but happy it is behind me. I’m gonna settle in by my Christmas tree now for a while. See yas all in December! ✌️ ✌️”

Annie was diagnosed with hormone-positive, HER2-negative invasive ductal carcinoma and went through four rounds of Taxol and Carboplatin. Through cold capping, she kept around 80% of her hair. “I felt a lump in the middle of January, had a biopsy on Valentine’s Day, and was diagnosed with Stage 1, triple positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on February 18. A port was installed in my chest two days after I turned 40; chemotherapy began flowing through it five days later. By July, I’d finished six rounds before my lumpectomy surgery in August. Yesterday (finally, yesterday!) was my 19th and final round of radiation. While maintenance and monitoring will always be a part of my life, I can now comfortably talk about my cancer without the raw fear that it will “scare people off.”
