The Portland Hospital, Outpatients is a well-established Obstetric & Gynaecological clinic We are open 7 days a week in Harley Street, London.

The Birth Company provides comprehensive support and reassurance in pregnancy and fertility. Same day appointments are available for Harley Street and Alderley Edge. We provide consultations, scans and blood tests by skilled sympathetic staff in a relaxing environment. Dr Gibb is available for back up support and advice if necessary. There is easy access by public transport. The clinic is in Harle

y Street, central London. There is no need for a referral letter from a GP or the NHS. We keep up to date with new innovations such as the Harmony test and YourBabyScan. We fulfill the requirements of all regulatory bodies. Our highly skilled sonographers perform ultrasound scans at all stages of pregnancy from Viability scans in early pregnancy through to Wellbeing and 4D scans later on in the pregnancy. We provide back up for couples having IVF abroad. We will provide a full gynaecological ultrasound scan report including ultrasound images, that you will be able to share immediately with your GP, fertility specialist or Consultant doctor. The ultrasound report and images are sent electronically to you and your referrer. Our therapists provide complementary therapies to round off our extensive provision of care.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Keith Duncan to lead our next Antenatal Lounge session. With over 30 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and over 4,000 births delivered, Dr Duncan brings valuable specialist insight into pregnancy care, birth options and fetal wellbeing.

Dr Duncan practises at The Portland Hospital and on Harley Street, with a background in maternal–fetal medicine and extensive expertise across both low‑risk and complex pregnancies. His calm, reassuring approach and evidence‑based guidance make him a fantastic contributor to our educational programme.

There is growing national concern about the rise of unregulated baby scan clinics and the risks they pose to expectant parents. Reports show serious incidents where scans performed by non‑specialists have led to:
• Healthy pregnancies wrongly diagnosed as miscarriages
• Dangerous conditions like ectopic pregnancies being missed
• Incorrect or outdated clinical advice being given
The Society of Radiographers is calling for the title “sonographer” to become legally protected, highlighting that anyone with an ultrasound machine can currently claim the title, despite the potential for harmful misdiagnoses.
At The Portland Hospital Outpatients, HCA UK, all ultrasound examinations are performed by fully qualified, experienced, and regulated sonographers using medical‑grade equipment.
