DIM SUM DUCK // Reels raving about couldn’t ignored any longer so and (and 3 feral kids) set out to Kings Cross to see if it lived up to the hype.

Getting there at about 1pm, there was a small but sizeable queue. Several tables for 2 people were given to those behind in the queue but eventually a table became free after about 35 minutes. We’d already analysed the menu so we’re quick to order. And the food came promptly too.

The kids devoured two portions of soup dumplings 小笼包 (there’s 4 in each), 3 bowls of rice and the garlic broccoli. Which left the sesame prawn wrap 芝麻蝦包, won ton soup 港式雲吞湯麵, Choi sum, prawns with chives dumplings 鮮蝦韮菜餃, bean curd skin prawn cheung fun 海鮮腐皮腸粉 and turnip cake 蘿蔔糕) for the grown ups. It was a feast! Although we didn’t order the one thing which I felt like we should have on reflection - the duck 🙈

However, it was all delicious with the sesame prawn wrap and the beancurd prawn cheung fun taking joint top spot. The Choi sum was also amazing. We can’t comment on the soup dumplings as we didn’t get a look in but the kids were happy 😊

With all this food, plus a coke, the bill came to £93 which felt reasonable.

Would we go there again? Most definitely.

What’s your go-to for when you need a lift in energy? As someone who is really caffeine sensitive (thanks Asian genes 🤣), coffee leaves me feeling jittery.

But I love - and it helped save my sanity when dealing with three small and feral kids on an early morning flight on very little sleep 😃

Adaptive activewear. How awesome is that? Took my Starlight Sweat out for a road test over the weekend and it is gorgeous! Super cosy and soft, it feels like being enveloped in a cloud 💕

What’s fantastic about this is that while it works great as a sweatshirt, it’s also got well-placed zips on the sleeves and down the front so if you’re having medical treatment such which requires access to picc lines or you need lots of blood drawn, you can keep it on. I love this thoughtfulness.

It’s lovely as a sweatshirt but would make a fabulous gift for someone going through a tough time.

Hands up if you’ve decided to start running?
A couple of things which can help you run strong:

⭐️ Start slow, start short. Build it up week by week to avoid injury.
⭐️ Use an app such as or to help you improve and stay accountable.
⭐️ Find a friend who has a similar goal so you can run together.
⭐️ Head to your nearest - this tracks when you’ve run and also gives you a time. Aaaand, it doesn’t matter if you don’t run it all - you can jog or walk too.
⭐️ Warm-up and cool down. It doesn’t have to be long but stretching can help you feel less stiff after.
⭐️ Enjoy it and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Just getting out and running (no matter your speed) for even a few minutes is fantastic.

I’ve personally found that parkrun has been the best for me with regard to accountability and ‘stickiness’. I invite others to come along which means I HAVE to show up (I’ve not wanted to go so many times but knowing that I’ve told others I’ll go makes me - and I’ve never regretted it), and I know it’ll take X amount of time. It’s hard to make space for fitness especially as a mum of three boys, but this is one thing that’s now properly in the diary.
