The word ‘sell’ has a pretty bad reputation. Selling your soul, selling out, sales. Yet we only ever really talk about it disparagingly when it’s insincere or when we feel taken advantage of.

Find out how to "sell" your work. The nice way.

Our speaker for September are Camilla Halford and Eleanor Turney:

Looking for photographers for the Edinburgh Fringe:

Greetings!

Thanks for your interest in working with theatre makers.

Gobo is a new service which offers an alternative way for theatre makers to book their shows into venues the UK (online, rather than via expensive consultants).

As you know, images are powerful in communicating a message, but many theatre makers are directors or playwrights first, and aren’t thinking about how to best visually attract people with an array of imagery about their production until after it’s being staged for the first time.

Would you be interested in taking live or posed shots of early productions by theatre makers to help them promote their work?

We’re specifically looking for people who are in Edinburgh for 7th - 31st August 2015 for the Edinburgh Fringe.

You let us know what kind of shots you want for your portfolio and we’ll help match you with the right show.

We ask that this be a mutual beneficial arrangement where you receive:

~~A credit wherever your image is used
~~Tweeted about by the theatre makers and by
~~2 complimentary tickets to see the show on a night you're not shooting
~~Your images used in real-world application
~~Be featured on a blog post at www.itsagobo.com advertising what you do with a 20 word bio about yourself, links to your portfolio and a profile image

and the theatre makers can present your images on their website, in print editorial if they’re lucky enough to get a press release featuring your image, in flyers and posters on their social media pages. You can of course discuss merchandising options.

If this excites you, please get in touch with me, and we’ll start promoting your services!

Warmly
Camilla
