It's how you show up - that's this year's focus for Autism Awareness Day.

So, we want to shine a light on just a few ways we show up for the people we support with autism.

From supporting sensory needs, to providing training with lived experience, we ensure everyone is supported in a way that suits them 💚

The Sunnyside team were honoured to be invited to afternoon tea at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Palmer of Childs Hill, following their shortlisted nomination at last year’s Learning Disability and Autism Awards.

Andy Tuck, Registered Manager, said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to represent Choice Care and reflects the hard work and dedication of the whole Sunnyside team. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

A brilliant achievement, well done to everyone involved!

We'd like to reintroduce you to Seth...

You might already know it's Autism Awareness Week, but we bet you didn't know that only 30% of people with autism are in any type of employment?

In 2025, Seth began volunteering at a local farm; doing what he loves - working with animals 🐑

His story is a powerful reminder that people can thrive and do more than what's 'expected' of them when we step up and empower people to thrive 💚

At Choice Care, we’re proud to work alongside people like James, whose dedication and compassion make a real difference to the people we support every day. As a Social Care Worker, James brings empathy, patience and a person-centred approach to supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives.

For James, a career in care is incredibly rewarding. From supporting people with daily life skills to sharing meaningful experiences together, he finds real purpose in helping others grow in confidence and achieve things they may not have thought possible.

Choice Care

Choice Care provides specialist care and support for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs. We help everyone in our care to live safe, happy, meaningful and fulfilled lives, regardless of their challenges, where they’re valued, respected, listened to and supported, living as independently as possible.

We treat everyone we support with complete dignity and respect, working together to arrive at the key decisions that affect their lives. We agree personalised care plans and desired outcomes, and support everyone to achieve their individual goals, helping them progress at their own pace toward a positive, more independent future.

We currently support over 600 people. To meet their needs, we offer a comprehensive set of services, from high acuity residential care to more flexible supported living solutions. Our residential homes provide a safe, therapeutic and supportive environment, offering high quality, personalised care. Each property is a distinct community with its own character and personality - a second family for everyone we support. Our supported living services offer flexible care packages based on individual need, from a few hours a week to full time, 24/7 support for those in rented accommodation or their own homes.

Choice has been a leading complex needs provider for over 25 years. We are at the forefront of national best practice, with an outstanding reputation and amongst the highest CQC ratings of any comparable organisation in the country. Today, we are one of the UK’s leading specialist care providers, operating over 60 residential homes and a variety of supported living services across the South, South West and West Midlands.
