Global Medical Training are experts in providing First Aid training across all sectors - using experienced Paramedics, our training and experience is unrivalled. was established to provide quality First Aid Training to a wide range of industries using a practical and pragmatic approach. We found that for too long, members of the public had been getting their First Aid Training from a "trainer" lecturing out of a book. With over 20 years experience (and counting) of working on the frontline, Global Medical Training can really relate to what we teach and facilitate learning for a range of clients. We believe that basic First Aid training should be included in the curriculum and that every parent should know basic First Aid for the safety of their children. All of our trainers and instructors hold a recognised accredited teaching qualification as well as a professional qualification or registration.

Shocking news coming in about a stabbing at a school. 🚨

A sad but very real reminder that serious violence can happen anywhere, and when it does the first few minutes matter most. đź’”

Severe bleeding can become life-threatening very quickly. Having trained staff and the right equipment on site can make a critical difference before emergency services arrive. ⏱️

Over the past year we’ve been working with local schools to ensure staff have the skills and equipment to treat catastrophic bleeding quickly and professionally. 🩸

We sincerely hope these kits are never needed — but being prepared matters.

Is your school equipped to deal with a life-threatening bleed?

Really pleased to see this important progress from the Benedict Blythe Foundation. The introduction of Benedict’s Law and clearer expectations around allergy safety in schools is a hugely positive step forward and a powerful legacy for Benedict.

For the past 10 years we’ve made adrenaline auto-injector training part of our standard teaching, going beyond what is usually required in statutory first aid courses. We’ll continue to support schools and organisations with training to help them prepare for and implement these important changes.

As this develops, we hope organisations involved act responsibly and do not exploit this through increased costs of adrenaline auto-injectors, and that the UK Government ensures adequate funding for schools so these requirements can be implemented properly without detriment to other important areas. đź’‰

Today is a day we have worked towards for years.

Following Benedict’s death, we promised him — and we promised ourselves — that we would fight for change so no other family would have to stand where we stood.

Today, the Department for Education has launched the statutory consultation on Supporting Children with Medical Conditions and Allergy. It delivers the core elements of Benedict’s Law and requires all schools to have: spare allergy pens in schools, allergy training for staff, clear allergy policies and Individual Healthcare Plans.

Benedict’s Law exists because of our son. It exists because of the questions we had to ask. It exists because we refused to accept that uncertainty and inconsistency were good enough.

Benedict was brave, kind and full of life. He would have hated the idea of another child being left unsafe. We are incredibly proud that his name now stands for clearer standards and stronger protection for others.

This moment belongs to all of you as well. To the families who shared your stories. To the clinicians and teachers who spoke up. To everyone who signed, wrote, supported and stood with us.

We have done this for you. For every child with allergies. For every parent who sends their child to school and hopes they will be safe.

This consultation is an important step forward — and we will continue to see it through.

Because of Benedict’s Law, change is happening.

🚑 First aid guidance has changed — has your training kept up?

UK Resuscitation Council guidance was updated last year. That means some first aid course content is now out of date.

But being up to date isn’t just about having the latest manual.

Real emergencies can be messy, pressured and unpredictable. They can’t be fully taught by reading slides or reciting a book.

When choosing a first aid provider, it’s worth asking:

✔️ Are they teaching to the latest guidance?
✔️ Do their instructors have real-world emergency experience?
✔️ Can they explain why decisions are made — not just what to do?

Because when it really matters, experience counts just as much as certification.

Whether you're part way through a qualification period and need some updates, or looking to get yourself qualified - contact us to see how we can help you and your teams remain confident and competent.

Sound advice from the Resus Council, something we teach on all our courses...

If you are with someone who is unresponsive, call 999 and make sure you put it on speakerphone.

Performing CPR requires two hands 🤲🏽 using speakerphone lets you follow instructions from the emergency operator while giving lifesaving chest compressions.

Defib pad placement is important. Positioning the pads correctly can double someone’s chance of survival.

While these two examples appear similar, side A is the correct way to place the pads. The key difference is that the pad on the left hand side of the chest has been placed on the side of the rib cage, closer to the armpit.
