Rest! Rest! Rest! Yes Rest, your body needs it.

Here's why you need to prioritise rest in your busy schedule:

Rest is a vital component of maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing. It allows the body to recover, repair, and restore energy levels, while supporting healthy brain function and emotional balance.

Adequate rest reduces stress, enhances mood, and improves concentration, memory, and decision-making.

Physically, it lowers the risk of illness by strengthening the immune system and supports cardiovascular and metabolic health.

Rest also enhances productivity, creativity, and resilience by preventing burnout and sustaining long-term performance.

Prioritising rest whether through quality sleep, short breaks, or mindful downtime promotes overall wellbeing, balance, and a healthier quality of life.

A healthy mind is the foundation of a fulfilling life. Taking care of your mental well-being is just as important as caring for your physical health.

Prioritize self-care by nurturing positive thoughts, managing stress, and seeking balance.

Practice mindfulness, stay connected with loved ones, and give yourself the grace to rest and recharge.

Remember, it's okay to ask for help when needed—mental health is a journey, and it's worth every step.

Keep nurturing your mind, and it will keep you strong, resilient, and ready to face the world.

Enjoy your day.

GRATITUDE- What about it?

Gratitude simply means the state of being grateful or thankful.

According to research, the art gratitude has the following mental health benefits:

Expressing gratitude can improve your mood- People who regularly express gratitude for the positive things in their life are shown to be happier overall, leading to lower rates of stress and depression.

Showing gratitude can make you more optimistic-
Studies have shown that those who express gratitude regularly appear to have a more positive outlook on life.

Sharing gratitude can improve social bonds - People have reported feeling more loved and more connected to others in their lives when they routinely practice gratitude or those around them practice gratitude.

Practicing gratitude can improve your physical health-
People who actively express gratitude tend to be more engaged in activities to take care of their physical health, like eating well and exercising. This leads to higher energy levels, better sleep and a stronger immune system, or the ability to fight off illness or infection

As we all know, the month of February is finally coming to a close. In few hours time we would be saying welcome March.

Let's make things fun for ourselves by leaving in the comment section those things we are grateful for.

Have you heard of this saying and what does it mean to you to say broken crayons still color?

Basically, it means that in-spite of everything that a person has done or been through they still have purpose and value.

How powerful is that?

Yes, it is powerful. Powerful in the sense that you remain useful and functional, despite being broken.

This is where I bring in God (the one who is not to be left out), the one who knows your purpose.

God's word says " before I formed you in the womb, I knew you" Jeremiah 1:5. It tells us that God knows the intricate details of our lives.

You are a crayon with purpose despite every single way that you have fallen short. Do not allow life to beat you down. Stand up and be bold. You will continue to do amazing things like land your first job, run for office, buy your new home, getting married, growing your family and climb mountains.

So, I shall leave you on this note.

Despite broken, you're useful, functional and purposeful. Choose to be great because despite everything, broken crayons still color.

Have a blessed day and remember healthymindshub is the place to be for all things mental health.

This is for all of those people out there reading who perhaps had a challenging 2021. For those who have not had all the stars lined up for them. For everyone who is suffering from depression, anxiety, feelings of failure, heart-ache and pain.

To us you are such a valuable follower of healthymindshub. To us this world would be a very empty place if you were not here. So even though you struggled, even though it hurts, and sometimes damn hard but you are still here. We may not know you personally but if you are in this world you are a gift to this world, regardless of how you feel about yourself right now.

In this year 2022, instead of fighting against who you are, attempting to create or be a perfect person, embrace yourself and take time to forgive the part of you that does not feel good enough.

Take time to acknowledge any personality quirks that may not match your high expectations.

Know that you are human and many many countless others are feeling exactly the same as you do right now and thinking they are less than perfect because they are not able to hold it all together.

Give yourself permission to be where you are now, and know that grace will find a way to support you.

Healthymindshub wishes you happy new year..
