happy saturday everyone 🌞🌻 let’s talk mental health & ramadan! 🌟 there can often be a lot of stigma surrounding mental health in the month of ramadan, and this stigma often originates from culture rather than religion 😬 that’s why we’ve really emphasised in this post the importance of knowing the nature of God and knowing that you’re not permitted to fast if you are unwell — this applies to mental health! 🧠 one of the best things you can do this month is be kind and non judgmental of others, create safe spaces for support and healthy conversations! be there for each other 💛 we hope this ramadan brings you peace and love 🥰 so grab your cup of chai (if you’re not fasting🤭😉) and let’s gup shup & break it down!! lots of love, mama & beti 🫶🏽💖 (ps if you require further referencing for this post or want the link so you can copy + paste it, just hit us with a dm ✨)

hey everyone 💓 we hope you’re all doing well!! firstly a TRIGGER WARNING for ed’s on this post, please do not read through if you’re not comfortable 💜 we wanted to make a post talking about eating disorders since it is eating disorders awareness week ✨ this is honestly just a starting point in talking about this issue because of the complexity and sensitive nature of it 💕 we really encourage you all to do your research on eating disorders and educate yourself on this mental health issue 🤍 even if you don’t necessarily have an eating disorder, we know that part of the desi lived experience is a continuous stream of remarks about our bodies! this damages our relationship with food 🥘 if you or anyone you know is struggling with disordered eating, please use the resources we have shared or contact your GP 💜 we are sending love to everyone who has a negative relationship with food, please know that you are not alone in this, and recovery is possible 💜 take care of yourself & share with your loved ones✨✨ lots of love, mama & beti 🩷🩷🩷

hello lovely people 🌞 we hope you all had an excellent week and are well rested to take on tomorrow!😼 today’s post is all about parenting and how we can improve ✨ desi parents are often misunderstood, their harsh discipline and expectations comes from a place of perfectionism and love…as parents, we need to take a step back from how we approach our children and translate our love into understanding and compassion for our children 🩷 our aim should be to build friendship with our children through positive affirmations and compassionate language 🥰 we should stop worrying about “log kya kahenge” (what will people say) and prioritise understanding their children and nurturing them to become emotionally secure and independent individuals 💪🏽🥰✨ so grab your chai ☕️ & delve into our post! let’s gup shup 💕 lots of love, mama & beti⭐️💕 p.s show some love & remember to share with your loved ones 💌

hey lovely people ✨ it’s been a while since we’ve posted, but we’re back from our hiatus in time for valentine’s 💓🌚 we wanted to remind you all that there is more to this holiday than romantic relationships! it can be a day of gratitude for yourself, your friends & family 💗 you get to choose what valentine’s day means to you 💫 we know it can be a difficult time for many people and social media surely doesn’t make it any easier, but we hope these gentle reminders remind you that it’s okay to take a break from socials and put yourself first 💌 even if you are in a romantic relationship it is easy to compare your relationships to those around you and the ones you see online 🌝 but remember no relationship is perfect! show gratitude and love to yourself, your partner and all your loved ones 🫶🏽💖 our next post will delve a bit deeper into the desi world of v-day but for now take these reminders & share to anyone who needs it 💕 - lots of love, mama & beti 💘💘💘 p.s drop a ‘🩷’ in the comments if you liked this post!🩷🩷🩷

hello everyone 🩷 we thought we’d share our thoughts on valentines from a desi lens ✨we know valentines can be a difficult time, but nobody really talks about the desi experience of it and how love as a whole can be a tricky topic to understand and navigate growing up desi 💓 as ever we are huge advocates for bridging intergenerational gaps to build positive relationships between parents and children so they can address these conversations 🥰 it’s important to realise that valentine’s day doesn’t mean you HAVE to get your dupatta caught on someone’s kurta or that you have to run through a field of yellow flowers to hug your soulmate, valentines can be a day for self love and self compassion, or it can just be another day 🙈 YOU get to decide what it means for you 🩷 a happy valentine’s day from mama & beti 💕💕🫶🏽 we hope you have a fabulous february 🎀🎀🎀✨
