Take Control of Your Prostate Health with MRI Screening
At Chenies Mews Imaging Centre, we offer advanced prostate screening MRI in collaboration with the London Uroradiology Partnership. Our cutting-edge bi-parametric MRI scan is designed to detect the high-grade prostate cancers that require urgent treatment.
Why Consider Prostate Screening?
Prostate cancer is extremely common in men over 50, and while most will develop it at some point, only a small percentage of cases are life-threatening. Screening allows for early detection of aggressive prostate cancer, helping to guide the right course of action while avoiding unnecessary treatments and their potential life-altering side effects.
If you have recently had a PSA blood test within the normal range for your age and have no current symptoms or previous serious prostate issues, you may be suitable for this quick, non-invasive MRI scan.
What Does the MRI Involve?
✔ Safe & Comfortable – No ionising radiation, no contrast dye, and no injections
✔ Fast & Efficient – A 15–20 minute scan, reported by a Consultant Uro-Radiologist within 48 hours
✔ Clear Results – Your GP will receive a traffic light system report:
🟢 Green – Your prostate appears completely normal.
🟠Amber – There is cause for concern; discuss next steps with your GP.
🔴 Red – A lesion is detected; your GP will refer you to a Urologist for further investigation.
How to Arrange a Prostate Screening MRI
Speak to your GP and request a referral to Chenies Mews Imaging Centre for a bi-parametric MRI prostate scan. Your GP will need to provide a PSA test result from the last six months.
Cost: £575 (self-funded, as private insurers do not cover screening scans).
If further investigation is needed, most private insurance plans will cover multi-parametric MRI or urologist referrals—check with your provider for details.
Early detection makes all the difference. Take charge of your prostate health today.
