🎄As we head into the festive season please be aware that our opening times will be a little less as our team will be taking some time off to enjoy spending time with their families.
🎁Beware of "Christmas Wrap" back!🎁
Over the years, we have noticed a few patterns in the type of aches and pains we see around this lovely festive time. One very significant back issue which can be avoided is "Christmas Wrap" back! Please wrap your presents at a table or worktop height - sitting on the floor wrapping presents is a sure way to cause significant joint strains and back or neck pain! (did we mention the hips and knees)?!
As always, if you are doing any repetitive task for a significant period of time please take regular 20 minute breaks and change the activity or posture - even if it is only for a minute, it will avoid repetitive strain on the body and joints which leads to pain! Keep moving, keep changing your position and stay active.
Christmas is supposed to be a fun and happy time of year, and all too often it can be spoilt by the added stress and tension, the change in our daily routines, and poor health choices. Try to avoid being too sedentary in general, make time for walks with family and friends, take the stairs or walk to the shops, stay hydrated with water, limit excessive sugar intake (the key player of inflammation), rest and sleep well, keep taking your supplements -especially vitamin D and above all have some fun and laughter!
