NHS England has issued recent updates urging newly eligible pregnant women to take up vaccines such as the RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) vaccine ahead of winter to protect their babies from serious respiratory illness.​

These updates sit alongside ongoing advice on flu and whooping cough (pertussis) vaccination in pregnancy, emphasising that immunisation during pregnancy can provide protection for both mother and baby in the first months of life.
