It’s been a while but I’m back 🥰 I have great hopes for a new month. Some restrictions are finally being lifted in London🇬🇧 which means I can go out to enjoy meals in restaurants again and most importantly support fellow independents.🍱⁣⁣

All the blossoms around London took me back to my trip to Japan in 2019🌸⁣⁣

🌸Good quality authentic Japanese tea is not easy to find in Uk , I recently created a little Japanese corner in my home to enjoy a new Tea. Let me present to you the wonderful Chikako from a unique and award-winning Japanese black tea (wa-koucha) with carefully handpicked sakura leaves, which provide a delicatley fragrant cherry aroma to the tea. Its beautifully orange-hued liquor has notes of clover honey, black cherry, and barley syrup a truly exquisite experience very soothing and relaxing.⁣⁣

🌸This tea is from Harashima san according to ‘koucha is made from local black tea leaves grown in the mountains at 500 meters above sea level. A fermented tea, this koucha has a firm taste and sweetness similar to that of Assam tea – used for non-Japanese black tea – and also a characteristically Darjeeling taste. A perfect match for sweets like my fave red bean mochi. For me I found the interview with him such an interesting watch.⁣⁣

Today's post was inspired by a second place we call home Hong Kong! ⁣
⁣
Fellow foodie and I decided on a little collaboration after talking about how much we missed travelling there to see our family.⁣
⁣
Hong Kong is a wonderful place also known as ‘the city that never sleeps’ with a perfect combination of natural magnificence with mountains and sea combined with amazing architecture to explore, you’ll never be stuck for things to do there. One of the things I missed the most is the food! Swipe to see Hazels ‘Cha chan teng’ cafe inspired lunch she had.⁣

Have you ever thought about mixing coffee and tea ? well, if you did you are not crazy as there’s any actual drink you can order from Hong kong cafes called Yuanyang 鸳鸯 aka Kopi Cham if you’re in Malaysia. We decided to mix ours up and pair it with tapioca pearls to make a bubble tea and...my goodness.. Yum!⁣

❤️Why Is Yuanyang So Popular? (according to )⁣
The history of Hong Kong made it possible for yuanyang to be so popular. From 1839 until 1997, Hong Kong was under British rule. During this time, capitalism, modernization, and Western views made an indelible imprint on the economics and culture of the island, while British customs became part of the local culture. Among those rituals is the famous afternoon tea, a tradition in which fancy cakes, confections, fine patisserie, and finger sandwiches are served amongst the finest teas. The craze for tea persists, but as there became less time to sit down and enjoy a spread of pastries and tea in the middle of the afternoon, yuanyang seemed like a great two-in-one beverage in which tea meets a much-needed coffee shot to keep going with the day.⁣

We adapted a recipe from ⁣
My tea base I used Single Estate Lost Malawi English Breakfast to give a strong bold taste and coffee from which was a perfect opportunity to test out my (ad:pr) leak-proof bubble tea tumbler.⁣

I ❤️ that it comes with 2 reusable straws and cotton carry bag so I can take it around with me on my daily walks for some fresh air. ⁣
