A few tips to help you actually stick to them this time 👇

✔️ Make goals measurable
Not “I want to lose weight” →
“I’m aiming to lose 10lb in 6 weeks.”

✔️ Make them achievable
Big, sudden changes are the fastest route to burnout. Small, realistic shifts last longer.

✔️ Change little, not everything
You shouldn’t feel deprived to be healthy. Sustainable changes win every time.

✔️ Get an accountability buddy
Someone to celebrate the wins with — and keep you going if you wobble.

✔️ Hot take: February is actually a better month to start 😉
It’s shorter, paydays have landed, and the Christmas temptations are done.

🧠 We talk about Alzheimer’s once it’s a problem — but brain health matters long before that.

With growing research into Alzheimer’s, one thing is clear:
👉 This isn’t just something to think about later in life.
Your brain needs daily support, just like your gut, heart, or hormones.

One of the most common nutrient deficiencies for the brain?
✨ Omega-3 — specifically DHA, a key structural fat in the brain and one that research links to cognitive decline when levels are low.

It’s been a while since I shared what I actually do 👋

I’m a Nutritional Therapist, but I often call myself “The Gut Whisperer” because my work is based on gut testing. I’m very data-driven, and testing gives us real insight into what’s happening in your gut and how your bacteria are impacting your health.

Most people come to me with gut issues, pain, or toilet troubles — but gut testing reveals so much more, including inflammation, nutrient gaps, and imbalances that affect the whole body.

From there, we use personalised nutrition, targeted diet changes, fibre support, and (when needed) supplements to boost beneficial bacteria and reduce the less helpful ones — helping you feel back in control of your health.

I also work increasingly with child nutrition, especially for active and sporty kids, after seeing first-hand how little support there is for parents in this area.

Something I hear all too often. Why wait? You can start today and enter January feeling better?
New Years resolutions don’t last. Mainly because people try to do too much and can’t commit to it.
Make a small change today, then another one when you feel you can. This leads to real progress, instead of the sense of failure most people succumb to at the end of January.

Did you know your brain is 60% fat? And about one-third of that is PUFA (omega-3 + omega-6).
But do you realise: your brain cannot make most of these essential fats — it has to pull them from your diet.
🧠 How your brain gets these fats:
✨ You eat healthy fats
✨ Your gut breaks them down
✨ Your liver repackages them
✨ Special transporters bring them across the blood-brain barrier
✨ Your brain uses them to build neurons, synapses & myelin
Foods that feed your brain:
🐟 Fatty fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel)
🌱 Algal DHA (vegan)
🥚 Eggs & meat (for omega-6 AA)
A sharper brain starts with smarter fats. 💡

My possibly controversial opinion:
The reason we have people struggling with mental health “conditions”, an increase in neurodiversity, very simply put: Is because the Omega 3 is missing in most diets, leading to the brain being deficient and giving us these symptoms.

Increase your Omega 3, decrease your Omega 6 and you’re off to a flying start, ahead of most the population who don’t know this.

Brain fog?
It really seems to be on the rise. Everywhere I go, people are talking about it.

Now, everyone is different — something I remind clients all the time — but there is a pattern I keep noticing: more and more people are experiencing that “brain fog” feeling. And not just menopausal women… men are mentioning it too.

How often have you been mid-conversation and suddenly the word you need just vanishes from your mind?

If that sounds familiar, there are three key areas worth checking:

1. Hydration
Are you drinking enough water? (And no, alcohol doesn’t count!) Even mild dehydration can affect the brain surprisingly quickly.

2. Sleep
Are you getting enough proper rest? Sleep is non-negotiable — it’s when your body repairs, resets, and for younger people, when a lot of growth happens.

3. Diet
Essential fatty acids are exactly that: essential. Your body can’t make them; you have to get them through food. They play a crucial role in overall health — especially brain health.
Our brains are about 60% fat, and around 35% of that is made up of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), better known as Omega-3s.
If you don’t eat much fish, you’re likely not getting enough. Supplements are an option, but quality varies a lot. The one I use for myself and my family has been fantastic — clean, effective, and noticeably helpful. My own brain fog has eased since taking it, along with a few other noticeable changes.
