Forehead kisses and tight hugs ✨
This pandemic has taken a lot from our daily lives, and while those of us who are fortunate not to have lost anyone to this disease, it’s also given other things to us too.
For many however, the lack of touch, of being physically close to others has been really difficult.
And while it may be a bit longer before we can go back to things like forehead kisses and tight hugs, there is a way to make things easier, especially if you live alone.
Deep touch/pressure therapy, which works by sending signals to the brain to tell you where you are in relation to space. It can be deeply relaxing and calming, especially since studies show that a lack of touch is bad news for your mental health.
So how can you hack the benefits at home? Invest in a weighted blanket. This isn’t a sponsored or affiliated post, and it’s not even sound therapy related (hence I haven’t posted about this already), but 1️⃣people keep telling me they are struggling with the lack of touch, 2️⃣a weighted blanket has been my most treasured purchase of the year, so I thought I should share.
The blankets are filled with tiny glass beads to give them their weight, and if you do buy one just remember that it shouldn’t weigh more than 10% of your body weight.
