It’s FAKE🌚
If so far January has been feeling more like hibernating than hustling, congratulations, your internal clock is working perfectly.
In the modern world, we are pressured to reinvent ourselves on January 1st. But according to Ayurveda and ancient Yogic wisdom, this date is arbitrary. It lands in the middle of deep winter, a time nature has designated for rest, rooting, and preservation, not high energy output.
In the Vedic tradition, the energy doesn’t truly shift until Makar Sankranti (today), when the Sun begins its northward journey (uttarayana), marking the end of stagnation and the return of light.

I think we so often forget (and are told) that we are separate from nature. But when nature is in quiet phase, we are meant to be in the same phase. If your body is resisting the ‘NEW YEAR NEW ME’ energy, listen to it. That resistance is Jnana (your inner wisdom!!!)
In Yogic philosophy, we live by the sun and moon, not the clock. The Ayurvedic approach to winter is about ojas (vitality) building, preserving your energy, oiling your skin, and eating warm, grounding foods.

Saying that, this is a gorgeous time to softly reflect, and enjoy rest. Hearty, nourishing meals over the reduction of diet culture. Share this with someone who needs the reminder 🤌🏽
