There are so many signs of sensory overload and it is different for everyone. What signs of sensory overload have you noticed for you or your child?
Here are some examples.

Seek an evaluator with expertise in ADHD and dyslexia, preferably from organizations like IDA, LDA, or CHADD. Ask about their experience diagnosing ADHD and co-occurring dyslexia. If you suspect more issues, seek further evaluation, especially if you suspect reading difficulties.

Phonological processing testing, including the ability to distinguish sound structures in language, is a crucial indicator of dyslexia. Tests like the Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (CTOPP) and rapid naming should be used to speed up evaluations.

Testing for ADHD is recommended over multiple sessions, especially for children with inattention and impulsivity. Schedule evaluations before midday, when the brain is sharpest. If medication is taken, ask about it beforehand.
