Bayside, Melbourne based 500hr Yoga Teacher, Level 1 Yoga Australia qualified. Try it.

Specialising in Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes. What is Original Silence? Original Silence embodies the yoga practice and teaching style of Lauren Fitzgerald. The classes are based on a Vinyasa Flow Yoga style - a dynamic practise where breath is used to link each movement and asana (yoga pose). This continuous flow encourages the body to heat, open and release both musculoskeletally as well as psychologically and physiologically. A major focus of each class is on alignment to protect the body and practise safely, especially if working with or recovering from injuries or trauma. Each class is intelligently sequenced to move the energy through the body to open and release physical and emotional tension in a structured and safe way. It also biochemically calms the mind, leaving you with a feeling of holistic wellbeing upon leaving the class. People of any level and any background are welcome. As part of Original Silence, Lauren offers a range of teaching options and styles including: Vinyasa Power Flow, Slow Flow, Beginners and Restorative. These can be taught in a public class setting, privately or in a corporate environment. What does Original Silence mean? The idea behind the name Original Silence was to encourage people to think about what those words mean to them. It is quite a mindful and calming exercise. To me, I imagine Original Silence as a place within us all, a place where the mind is quiet and not coloured by life experiences and emotions. A peaceful place one can return to at any time to take some time out to reflect on who they are and how they would like to exist in this world. Philosophically, Original Silence is based on authenticity and honesty. The yoga practise is not only about the physical elements. Our yoga on the mat teaches us a lot about ourselves off the mat, it goes deeper. Yoga is a way of life, a way of perceiving the world and challenges we face. It is a way of behaving and observing, a way of letting go and releasing, a way of truly connecting the body and mind, a way of peeling back the layers that colour our soul and revealing that real you within.

Haven’t posted on here for a while but this quote grabbed me and I had to share.

A lot has happened between then and now for us. A pandemic, a new baby, rebuilding a new business, starting school, new house in a new area. It’s been a bumpy road but definitely more ups than downs and I am grateful the choices we have made and the focus of our energy has meant we are one of the luckier ones.

Life is very different these days but in learning to let go of expectations, embrace change and ride the covid waves (and all that goes with it) has given me an appreciation for what I have, what I value and how I perceive events. It’s been real. 🙏

❤️ this.

I quite often refer to thoughts in meditation as like a train pulling into a station - don’t get on board, don’t judge or evaluate, don’t follow the thought. Just watch the thought from afar, watch the doors close, bring the focus back to the breath and watch it gently slip away.

But this image is another beautiful visual representation.

Nostalgia, reminiscing on the good times, now how can that not bring a smile to your face? It’s good to be present and mindful, but sometimes gratefully looking back on life slows us down for a minute, we gain a little perspective as it helps us to feel better about the present and more hopeful about our future.
So today, I loved reminiscing about some of the best times in my life. The 5 years I spent living in London in my 20s. Feels so special to share this trip down memory lane with my family and view this great city through the eyes of a child (and Paddington) again!
When was the last time you reminisced?

My motto for today. Albert Einstein once said: “There are only two ways to live your life: as though nothing is a miracle, or as though everything is a miracle.” So today, I am choosing to live my life as though everything is a miracle.

Just settling down for a cup of Rejuvenate herbal tea from Teatreat Blends. This tulsi blend is mixed with lemongrass, rose petals and lemon myrtle and is simply divine. Tulsi tea is a sacred Herb in India, it’s known for its calming and stress reducing qualities which is proving the perfect treat for my me-time when the kids are asleep!

A relatively new tea brand on the scene and one that doesn’t disappoint! The blends are both interesting and intriguing. The teas are certified organic and hand crafted locally in Victoria. Do yourself a favour and check them out. They are delish!

And yes this is a shameless plug post, but it takes a whole lot of belief, courage and drive to launch a new business. I have every respect and admiration for those who embark on that journey (believe me, I am married to an entrepreneur and I understand intimately the roller coaster of highs and lows that come with the territory). So I am happy to help get the word out for a product I have enjoyed so much and support the Mum-prenures out there. As if we don’t already have enough on our plates! Check them out at teatreatblends.com.au
