All cells in and on our body, 90% are bacteria. The intestinal flora is therefore called the body's largest "organ". It has been mentioned so far that the normal bacterial flora consists of about 1200 different species, but recent studies show that the number of species is likely to be much larger.
Each human has a unique composition on the bacterial flora. The majority of the bacteria are found in the intestine, especially in the large intestine. The bacteria build a fantastic ecosystem that under normal conditions is our best protection against dangerous bacteria and viruses.
Due to poor eating habits, excessive hygiene, excessive use of antibiotics and other antibacterial substances in food, detergents, shampoos, toothpastes, etc., we have disrupted our normal bacterial flora.
