We’re at the Egham Royal Show this August Bank Holiday

Lodge Brothers are proud to once again support the Egham Royal Show on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th August.

Our Prepaid Team will be sponsoring the Music Stage and you’ll find us right next door with our stand, where we’ll be on hand to chat about funeral wishes and prepaid funeral plans in a relaxed and friendly setting.

And as a conversation starter, if you could choose one song to be played at your funeral, what would it be? Share it in the comments we’d love to hear.

We look forward to seeing you there for a weekend of community spirit, great music, and good company.

Lodge Brothers Marks EO Day with a First!
Happy EO Day!

Today marks 13 years since Employee Ownership was signed into law and what a journey it’s been. From just 152 employee-owned businesses back then to over 2,250 today, the movement is growing fast.

We’re proud to say that Lodge Brothers was the first funeral directors in the UK to become employee owned, helping protect the values and high standards that have guided our family business for over eight generations.

To celebrate EO Day 2025, we held our first ever Employee Forum meeting giving our team a stronger voice in shaping the future of our business and the services we offer to families.

Our future is in good hands – ours!

Rain Didn’t Stop the Picnic at Merlewood!

Despite the weather moving the picnic indoors, our District Manager Shelia Kane and Funeral Arranger Chris had a wonderful afternoon at Merlewood Care Home today. The grand drawing room played host to a lovely get-together, complete with packed lunches, goodie bags, and plenty of community spirit.

It was a pleasure to connect with local care home staff, community carers, physiotherapists, and other members of the team. We also met their brilliantly decorated duck, all ready for the Staines Thames Duck Race—complete with a hair net and string of pearls to represent their fabulous facilities!

We were proud to contribute raffle prizes for Merlewood’s upcoming Open Event on 12th July, and as always, we value opportunities to build relationships and support our local community.

Flower of the Month – The Rose

This month, we celebrate the timeless beauty and symbolism of the rose – June’s flower of the month.

Often associated with love, remembrance, and respect, roses are a meaningful tribute for those we hold dear. Whether in soft pastels or deep, rich tones, each bloom carries a message of enduring affection and memory.

At Lodge Brothers, we understand how important these personal touches can be. Roses remain one of the most cherished choices for funeral tributes and memorial arrangements – elegant, heartfelt, and everlasting in their symbolism.

If you’d like to include roses in a floral tribute or memorial arrangement, our team is here to help.

Red Watch Opens New Tea Room at The Burroughs Care Home

We were delighted to attend the official opening of the brand-new Red Watch Tea Room at The Burroughs care home, a welcoming space created to support residents, relatives, visitors and the local Yiewsley community.

The tea room is the inspired vision of Alison, the Activities Co-ordinator, and Andy from the Home Maintenance team, with the aim of providing a warm and inclusive hub that brings people together and raises awareness of dementia.

The opening on Monday 2nd June was supported by Red Watch from London Fire Brigade, with special thanks to Jan from Adult Social Services, Chris, Regional Director at UK, and our very own Sheila Kane, District Manager at Lodge Brothers, who joined staff and guests to celebrate this fantastic community initiative.

A huge well done to everyone involved in bringing this idea to life. The tea room looks beautiful—and the cake was a definite highlight! 🍰👏

Ride to Remember Sunday 29th June 2025

We’ve all known someone who loved riding and is no longer with us. This special ride is a chance to honour their memory and raise funds for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, who will be joining us at Thruxton Circuit.

Enjoy a scenic ride through the beautiful countryside, with café stops at Wi******er Auto Barn (classic car showroom) and Thruxton Circuit to keep you fuelled and connected with fellow riders.

Let’s come together, remember those we’ve lost, and make a difference. ❤️

Spreading Easter Cheer

Our lovely arranger Shobha was out and about recently, delivering Easter Eggs on behalf of our District Manager Sheila.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful teams at Queens Court and Mountbatten Grange for the warm welcome.

We’re proud to work closely with both care homes—not only delivering seasonal treats for the residents but also supporting staff through regular training sessions.

It’s always a pleasure to connect with such caring and dedicated teams.

Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Easter from all of us at Lodge Brothers.

Flower of the Month: The Primrose

As we step into February, the gentle primrose begins to bloom, bringing with it the promise of new beginnings and the quiet beauty of early spring.

At Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors, we find comfort in the symbolism of the primrose—a reminder that even in times of loss, hope and renewal are just around the corner. The primrose represents youth, remembrance, and the enduring cycle of life, offering a subtle yet powerful tribute to those we hold dear in our hearts.

Whether placed in a memorial arrangement or simply admired in nature, this delicate flower reminds us that love and memories continue to bloom, even in the colder seasons of life.

If you need support or guidance, our compassionate team is here for you, offering care and understanding when you need it most.

The Carnation: January's Flower of Love and Remembrance

As we step into the new year, we reflect on the beauty and meaning of January’s flower, the carnation. Symbolising love, admiration, and remembrance, this timeless bloom is a gentle reminder of the cherished moments we hold dear.

At Lodge Brothers, we understand the importance of honoring memories and celebrating lives well-lived. This month, let the carnation inspire us to show kindness, share love, and hold our loved ones close in our hearts. 💖

Remembering Loved Ones

This past Christmas, each Lodge Brothers branch featured a special Remembrance Tree. Every tree held a label dedicated to those we had the honour of caring for throughout 2024.

We were deeply touched by the heartfelt messages we received about these trees:

"I walked past your branch this morning and was absolutely delighted to see the tree with deceased names (including my father's). It was an amazing gesture at this difficult time of year. Thank you."

"I recently saw the Christmas tree with the names of those who passed this year – what a wonderful and comforting gesture. Thank you for your professionalism and kindness."

To every family who placed their trust in us, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. We hope the remembrance trees brought a sense of comfort and served as a gentle reminder that your loved ones are always in our hearts.

From all of us at Lodge Brothers, thank you for allowing us to support you in honouring those you hold dear.

On the afternoon of Sunday 15th December, we hosted our Annual Christmas Service of Remembrance at St. Marys Church in Sunbury-On-Thames

Over 160 people attended and took comfort in a moving and heartfelt service to honour and remember their loved ones. The beautiful ceremony, led by Father Andrew Downes & Father Simon Douglas-Lane and musical accompaniment by The Staines Brass Band, featured traditional Christmas carols and the lighting of candles—a poignant way to reflect and find comfort in cherished memories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful afternoon. We hope the shared strength of being together brought comfort at this special time of year. ❤️

A Heartfelt Evening of Remembrance

Last night, we were honoured to host a special Christmas Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving at St. Andrew’s Church, Hillingdon. This touching event, supported by our compassionate Hillingdon arrangers, brought together families to reflect, remember, and find solace among others who are also grieving.

Led by Fr. Andrew and Rev. Tina, the service was beautifully complemented by the heartfelt voices of Toni and the Hatstand Opera singers. The lighting of remembrance candles and the sharing of heartfelt prayers and readings offered comfort and connection during this difficult time of year.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and to those who made this service possible.
