Wishing a healthy and happy New Year to friends past and present.

"May your troubles be less, your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door."

#2026

30/12/2025

The period between Christmas and New Year, sometimes known as Twixtmas, can be a time of not knowing what to do with our Selves. But what if we used this time to dream, to percolate, and to imagine? What project has been waiting to be ignited by Will in order to come into being? We'd love to hear your dreams, intentions and yet to be birthed projects for 2026...

✨ Friday Reflection ✨ Roberto Assagioli, the founder of Psychosynthesis, has inspired many people with his writings about the human psyche that includes both our highest aspects as spiritual beings and the lower unconscious. Assagioli's marrying of science and spirituality is a bridge between two worlds and has brought hope to many who seek an intersection between psychology and spirituality.

We would love to know what Assagioli quote has resonated most with you? Perhaps it's confirmed something you already knew in your deepest core, maybe it has led to an expansion of consciousness or given a new perspective on something you'd been grappling with. We'd love to hear in the comments below.

-✨Are you looking for a psychospiritual context within which to understand and hold your Spiritual Awakening? ✨

Roberto Assagioli, the founder of Psychosynthesis, wrote extensively about the inner turmoil and confusion experienced as a type of crisis of meaning, that often precedes a spiritual awakening.

Even though Assagioli was writing over fifty years ago, the dissatisfaction and emptiness he describes experienced by humans in midlife (and these days often earlier) is as true today as it was then. When, despite having achieved everything that society dictates as bringing happiness - the successful career, the family, and the house - a longing still remains for something more soulful. A divine homesickness that intuits we belong to a spiritual realm, one that in both our deepest sorrows and greatest joys keeps bursting through.

At the Institute of Psychosynthesis, we offer a sacred container to explore this deep longing to answer the Call of Self in our MA Psychosynthesis Psychology programme and our Psychosynthesis professional therapy and coaching training.

We invite you to take that first step by coming to one of our weekly open events or joining a Fundamentals of Psychosynthesis Intensive weekend.

Make 2026 the year you really give the Gift of Psychosynthesis to your Self.

What have been the key pivotal moments on your Psychosynthesis journey?

If you had to trace the inner (or outer) signposts on your path towards Psychosynthesis, what would they be? Was it a chance conversation with a wise soul? A deep longing to explore the intersection between Spirituality and Psychology? Or simply a Google search or social media post that drew your attention?

In Psychosynthesis, Self is always trying to emerge and there is no chance or coincidence. We would love to hear how Self has brought Psychosynthesis into your life.

Roberto Assagioli, the founder of Psychosynthesis was a pioneer in his field to really emphasises the central aspect of Will in the human psyche, which he explores in his book, The Act of Will. As part of their MA programme, Institute of Psychosynthesis students are encouraged to create a "Will Project" - to bring into the world a project or venture that perhaps previously they would never have dared consider, utilising the different aspects of will: strong will, skilful will, good will and transpersonal will.

A wonderful example of this is the video series, The Gift of Psychosynthesis, hosted by Lara Roocroft and Jamie Carroll, who met as students on our MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology programme.

It's fitting that their first tentative steps into the world of podcasting should be with IoP Founder and director Roger Evans & over a series of weeks we will be sharing the interesting conversations with various Psychosynthesis practitioners and teachers.

πŸ“– Friday reflection πŸ“–
Students of Psychosynthesis will be familiar with the core texts written by Psychosynthesis founder Roberto Assagioli; namely Psychosynthesis: a Manual of Principles and Techniques, The Act of Will and Transpersonal Development.

We would love to know which other additional books about Psychosynthesis you have loved... these might include Joan Evans Psychosynthesis: A Psychospiritual Psychology or a host of other texts that have been written since Assagioli's death.

We'd love to hear in the comments your suggestions and why they've resonated with you.
