March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 💙

This month, we’re helping to shine a light on ovarian cancer and the importance of knowing the symptoms.

Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late, but early detection can save lives. Knowing what’s normal for your body and spotting changes early really matters.

👉 Key symptoms to look out for include:
• Persistent bloating
• Feeling full quickly or loss of appetite
• Tummy or pelvic pain
• Needing to wee more often or urgently

If these symptoms are new, frequent or persistent, don’t ignore them - speak to your GP.

Duchy Hospital's NHS office team have been busy expanding their knowledge and developing new skills. We’re delighted to congratulate Monique and Sammy, who have both successfully completed the BSMSA Level 2 Medical Terminology Course.

Congratulations are also in order for Lottie, who has passed the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) examination and is now an Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC). This is a significant achievement, and we’re incredibly proud of the commitment and dedication shown by all our colleagues who continue to develop their skills and knowledge across our sites.

Monique and Sammy shared: “Working in a non‑clinical role, this course has broadened our medical knowledge and given us greater confidence in understanding medical terminology. It was both a fun and interesting learning experience.”

Lottie added: “I’m so proud to have passed the NCCQ examination and achieved my Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) status. It was a huge undertaking and felt overwhelming at times, but I was always supported and encouraged by the Duchy team. I’d like to wish all Ramsay coders sitting the March exam the very best of luck.”
