What happens during an rTMS appointment at our clinic?

After your consultation, you will be comfortably seated in a chair with your head leaning back. Your clinician will place a support pillow around your neck and a personalised cotton cap on your head - these will remain in place for the duration of the session.

The treatment, administered using a magnetic coil, does not require sedation and is painless (there may be a slight tingling feeling at first, but your clinician will ensure that you are comfortable). The coil will be placed on one side of your head, and you will be asked to lie still for around 30 minutes while the treatment takes place.

Following your appointment, you are free to go about your normal activities.

For more information about what happens during rTMS, read here: https://www.psychiatrycentre.co.uk/repetitive-transcranial-magnetic-stimulation-rtms-clinic/what-happens-during-rtms-treatment/

Is your child labelled as a troublemaker? ADHD can manifest in many ways, and in children it can look like:

• Being easily distracted
• Struggling to listen
• Finding it difficult to follow instructions
• Constantly switching between activities and having a short attention span
• Having difficulty completing mundane tasks
• Struggling to sit still
• Interrupting others in conversation

Get the support you need, without the wait. At The London Psychiatry Centre our experienced CAMHS team of child psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurses provide multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for a wide range of child mental health problems.

Treatments can include medications (where appropriate), parenting support, family work, and individual therapy). We can also work with other professionals such as GPs, schools and paediatricians where required.

Subthreshold bipolar disorder, also known as 'bipolar disorder not otherwise specified' (BD-NOS), is a condition that shares many characteristics with bipolar disorder, yet doesn't meet the full diagnostic criteria for the disorder. Despite this, it can still have a significant impact on an individual's life.

Those with subthreshold bipolar experience mood swings, similar to those with bipolar disorder. They may go through periods of elevated moods (hypomania) and then transition to periods of sadness or low energy (depression). These mood changes can be distressing and impact daily life and relationships.

The main difference between subthreshold bipolar and bipolar disorder lies in the duration and intensity of these mood episodes. In subthreshold bipolar, the episodes may be shorter, less severe or occur less frequently than in full-blown bipolar disorder. However, it's important to note that subthreshold bipolar is not a "lesser" condition but rather a distinct variant of bipolar disorder.

BD-NOS can be treated using The Zamar Protocol™ (Precision guided high-dose thyroid hormones and rTMS protocol) a patented combination of precision medicine-guided High-Dose Levothyroxine (HDL) and mitochondrial treatment with repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). This is an effective alternative to traditional bipolar disorder treatment that has few - if any - side effects, and very few medications.

Trauma doesn’t have to define your future. Healing is possible.

At The London Psychiatry Centre, we understand that trauma can take many forms and affect everyone differently. Whether caused by a single event or a series of distressing experiences, trauma can leave a lasting imprint on your mind and body.

You might be living with:

🔹 Intrusive symptoms like unwanted thoughts, flashbacks or disturbing perceptions
🔹 Avoidance of people, places or memories tied to the trauma
🔹 Hyperarousal such as difficulty sleeping, irritability or trouble concentrating

These are common signs of trauma, but they don’t have to be permanent.

🧠 Once you sit down with one of our experienced consultants, we’ll guide you through a personalised treatment plan, using the most up-to-date and evidence-based methods, including:

🔹 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), delivered using the latest technologies
🔹 CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), tailored to your specific needs

We know that recovery is not linear - it’s personal. That’s why we offer compassionate, ongoing support every step of the way.

If trauma has left you feeling isolated, overwhelmed or stuck, you don’t have to go through it alone.

At The London Psychiatry Centre, 61% of our patients treated with rTMS for Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) have recovered.

TRD is a type of depression where antidepressants have not been helpful. rTMS provides a drug-free alternative.

We have found that rTMS patients can return to work within a few weeks of starting treatment – as opposed to the average of nine months with drug treatment, psychotherapy and ECT.

Why are we the only ones to achieve such good results?

• We were the first clinic to pioneer rTMS in the UK
• We have treated highest number of patients
• We are the only clinic to publish results from our rTMS treatment

It is normal for children to have worries, whether it is about being tested at school, making friends or letting their team down in a sports game. However, there is a difference between worries and an anxiety disorder. Here's how to recognise the difference between the two:

• A worry is a feeling that we have in anticipation of a certain situation or its consequences. While a worry can sometimes feel intense and overwhelming, it usually doesn't last long, and can go away if there is a solution to the issue causing the worry or if you can distract yourself from it.

• An anxiety disorder can have a mental and physical impact. It can make you feel stressed and on edge, fatigued, nauseous, and can cause sleep problems. An anxiety disorder can affect daily life, creating challenges in relation to school, home life and relationships with peers and family.

If you have noticed a change in your child's behaviour, and you are worried that it might be related to anxiety, speak to our experienced CAMHS team for help. Our team comprises child psychiatrists, psychologists and nurses who, as well as being friendly, patient and empathetic, can provide multidisciplinary treatment for a wide variety of mental health problems in children.

Is alcohol taking control of your life? You’re not alone, but help is here.

At The London Psychiatry Centre, we understand that alcohol addiction is a chronic condition - one that doesn’t go away on its own and, if rushed, can return even stronger. That’s why we don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all treatment. Every person’s journey is unique, and so is the care we provide.

Our team of experts works with you to create a personalised treatment plan designed not only to help you stop drinking, but to stay free from alcohol long term. The aim? That this treatment is the last one you’ll ever need.

One in four people in England drink more than they should. If you're wondering whether your drinking habits are more than just a bad pattern, consider these withdrawal symptoms when not drinking (pictured).

Don’t wait until alcohol takes more from your life. You deserve to feel better.

📞 Call us today on 020 7580 4224 or visit https://www.psychiatrycentre.co.uk/treatments/addiction/alcohol-addiction/ to take the first step towards a healthier, happier future.
