Building on our ESG commitments, we’re focusing on where we can make the biggest impact.

Heating and lighting make up a significant part of our environmental footprint, so this year, we’ve launched a comprehensive Energy Efficiency Plan aimed at reducing consumption.

From smart meters and LED upgrades to improved insulation and staff e-learning, we’re taking practical steps to reduce waste across the board. It’s about being intentional, cutting carbon while also improving efficiency.

This is another step in our commitment to delivering exceptional care, not just for people, but for the planet.

Our family just grew a bit bigger!

We’re delighted to welcome Addington Heights, Langley Oaks and Heavers Court into our care home family, bringing a total of 150 residential and nursing care beds.

Croydon is already an important part of our network, and we’re pleased to now extend our care home presence locally. As part of the transition, the existing teams will transfer across, ensuring continuity for residents and families. Our focus will be on supporting those teams, strengthening systems, and continuing to improve outcomes over time.

At Eleanor Healthcare Group, Innovation and Fulfilment are values that guide how we enhance everyday living within our homes. One of the most overlooked challenges in later life is nutrition. Swallowing difficulties, reduced appetite, weight loss and muscle weakness can quietly impact wellbeing and recovery. Traditional pureed meals can lack visual appeal and sufficient nutritional depth, which may reduce intake and increase reliance on supplements.

To address this, our nutrition team, led by Richard Edwards, Regional Non-Clinical Services Manager, has introduced a structured Texture-Modified Dining Programme at our care home in Sittingbourne. This is not simply blended food. It is a safety-led, nutritionally fortified approach where meals are carefully adapted to support safer swallowing, built with integrated fortification, presented with dignity and visual appeal, and delivered through structured kitchen training to ensure consistency and high standards. From texture-adapted cauliflower cheese and salmon infused with pesto to fortified in-house ice cream providing up to 3,000 calories for residents experiencing weight loss, every dish is prepared with clear nutritional purpose. This level of structured, in-house expertise remains uncommon within the sector and reflects our continued focus on raising standards across our homes.

At Eleanor Healthcare Group, we believe in supporting the communities around us and standing behind causes that truly matter. Last year, our Chief Operating Officer, Katie Wordley, took part in The Great Tommy Sleep Out. This year, she is taking part again, joined by Marie McCourt, our Care Homes and LD Operations Director, continuing their commitment to raise awareness and support veterans in need.

On Thursday, 26th March 2026, they will spend the night outdoors at The Trenches, Detling Showground, whatever the weather. It is a small but powerful way to reflect the reality many veterans across the UK face every night. The fundraiser supports Royal British Veterans Enterprise - RBVE, which helps over 340 veterans and their families, including those facing homelessness, mental health challenges, and financial hardship, helping them find stability, dignity, and care.

Another feather in our cap as our care home, The Close Care Home in Oxfordshire, continues to shine.

We’re delighted to share that the home has been awarded Gold Level Dementia Care Accreditation from the Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS) for 2026–2027.

This recognition celebrates the dedication of our team in delivering thoughtful, person-centred dementia care, supporting residents through meaningful activities, personalised engagement, and a compassionate community environment.
