❄️ As we lead up to the festive season with our families, it's important help out others in need.

Our Birmingham team have been busy donating for their regional charity for the second year running. They have raised enough to fill 10 full 'Bags for Brummies' with winter essentials such as:

🧼 Toiletries
🧦 Warm socks
🧤 Gloves
🥨 Snacks
🎄 Festive treats and more.

LoveBrum will be sharing these bags out to smaller local charities over the next couple of weeks to help people living in sheltered accommodation and on the streets over the winter.

❤️ We are proud to be associated with such a worthwhile charity and hope that our contributions will put a smile on some people's faces this Christmas.

🏫 Case Study: The The Isle of Wight College - Planning Permission

Delivering new educational facilities and updating existing education estates is essential to ensure that learning environments keep pace with modern teaching, technology and sustainability standards.

That's exactly what we did for Wates Group & Department for Education when we secured planning permission for a brand new vocational building at the Isle of Wight College.

Our education planning specialists advised on the project from start to finish - achieving prior approval for demolition and undertaking pre-application engagement, seeing the planning application through EIA screening and carrying out public consultation, whilst meeting Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements.

This project is a fantastic example of how collaborative working can unlock education estate ambitions.

“We are grateful to the education planning experts at Vail Williams, not only for their ability to achieve the necessary planning permission for this college scheme, but to do so within tight timescales, and with the ability to react and lead on the BNG requirements which came in mid-process.”

Wates Construction has since secured the contract to deliver the programme via the Department for Education’s (DfE) £7bn schools construction framework. Work started in August this year.

Not your average agents launch!

30 industrial surveyors attended the grand opening of Unit B, Railway Triangle in Portsmouth with the Lord and Lady Mayoress cutting the ribbon.

To celebrate the occasion and to showcase the sheer size of the 106,605 sq ft warehouse, a 'friendly' game of pickleball was played in the unit which is being hailed as the new standard of industrial space on the South Coast.

Great fun was had by all - congratulations to DTZ Investors for the project completion. We don't imagine it will be on the market for long!

👷 Our team aren't afraid of some hard labour. In fact, we think they actually enjoy it!

The Surrey office joined forces with Surrey Heathland Partnership to clear gorse as part of the ongoing conservation of Pirbright Heath.

🪓 By the end of the morning, two parts of the heath were linked for the first time in around 10 years showing just how much energy and enthusiasm our team had in the space of just a few hours.

There may have been a couple of 'friendly' competitions whilst working up a sweat in the sunshine (*cough cough George and Richard...*) but all for a fantastic cause.

✂️ It was a fantastic opportunity to do some volunteering in the great outdoors and special thanks to Tasha Feddery for sharing her knowledge and letting them loose with a set or two of shears!

🛩️ You know you're working with an incredible group of people when they are willing to jump out of planes for their local cause.

September saw our Surrey team embark on not one, but TWO charity events in aid of The Eikon Charity, raising nearly £3,500 to help young people feel safe, heard and supported across the region.

The Vail Williams Charity Quiz took place at Hoebridge golf centre with our very own Luke Storey as quizmaster for the evening's festivities. Almost £2,000 was raised over the course of the night with NatWest taking a hard fought win. Thank you to every team who took part and made the evening a success.

Then just a week later, Sam Osborn and James Williams took to the skies, both completing a skydive from 15,000 ft. They raised £1,350 in donations, smashing their target of £1,000.

Working with people you enjoy being around isn't essential, but it really does help!

🤸🏻‍♀️ Cartwheeling into a new facility! 🤸🏻‍♀️

Earlier this month, we were invited to attend the opening of Prime Acrobatics' second location and watched an incredible display of gymnastics, aerial work and tumbling after finding them their new home in Camberley.

✅ With a waiting list of almost 1,700 people for their existing premises in Woking, the expansion was a necessity, our Surrey team secured the letting on a 10-year lease for the 16,421 sq ft property.

But it's not just a facility for all things acrobatics - it's also a safe haven for children and young adults in the area with Down Syndrome. Local charity Stepping Stones DS have 60 people using the gym every week as a chance to express themselves and have fun in physical environment.
