Your skin tells a story, make sure it’s a healthy one. 🖤

Know the ABCDE rule for melanoma (a serious type of Skin Cancer):

A – Asymmetry: one half doesn’t match the other
B – Border: edges are irregular, blurred, or jagged
C – Colour: multiple shades (brown, black, red, white, or blue)
D – Diameter: larger than 6mm (about a pencil eraser), but can be smaller
E – Evolving: any change in size, shape, colour, or symptoms (itching, bleeding)

Not all melanomas look the same, trust your instincts. If a mole stands out or changes, get it checked by a professional. Early detection can save your life.

Protect your skin: wear SPF, avoid excessive sun exposure, and check your moles regularly.

With summer approaching, it’s important to remember your skin needs protection too ☀️

🔍 Check your moles regularly:

Remember ABCDE

• A – Asymmetry: one half doesn’t match the other
• B – Border: irregular, blurred, or jagged edges
• C – Colour: multiple shades or uneven tone
• D – Diameter: larger than 6mm (about a pencil eraser)
• E – Evolving: any change in size, shape, colour, or sensation

Also watch for:
• Sores that don’t heal
• Redness or swelling beyond a mole
• Itching, tenderness, or pain
• Bleeding or oozing

🧴 How to protect your skin:
• Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (UVA & UVB protection) every day
• Apply 15–30 minutes before sun exposure
• Don’t forget ears, neck, scalp parting, hands & lips
• Reapply every 2 hours (and after swimming/sweating)
• Use about a shot glass amount for full body coverage
• Check expiry dates, old sunscreen won’t protect properly

🌿 Extra protection tips:
• Seek shade between 11am–3pm (peak UV hours)
• Wear UPF clothing, wide-brim hats & UV-blocking sunglasses
• Be extra careful near water, sand, and snow—they reflect UV rays
• Avoid sunbeds - they significantly increase skin cancer risk
• Vitamin D is important, but safer through diet/supplements if needed

🔍 Make skin checks a habit:
• Check your skin once a month in good lighting
• Use a mirror (or ask someone) for hard-to-see areas
• Take photos to track changes over time
• If in doubt, get it checked by a professional

Protect now, glow later ✨ Your future self will thank you 💛

Ovarian cancer doesn’t always shout — sometimes it whispers.

Subtle changes like bloating, pelvic discomfort, or feeling full too quickly are easy to ignore. But when something feels different and doesn’t go away, it deserves attention.
What this really means is simple: your body knows when something isn’t right. Listen to it.

Early action can make all the difference. If you’ve noticed ongoing or unusual symptoms, don’t wait — get checked.

Your health comes first. Always.

Everything you need to know about meningitis 👇

🧠 Meningitis is an inflammation of the protective membranes around the brain and spinal cord. It can be serious and needs urgent attention.

⚠️ Common symptoms:
• High fever
• Severe headache
• Stiff neck
• Sensitivity to light
• Nausea or vomiting
• Confusion or difficulty concentrating
• Cold hands/limbs, limb pain, pale or mottled skin

👶 In babies & young children:
• Bulging soft spot (fontanelle)
• High-pitched crying
• Floppy or unresponsive
• Refusing feeds

🦠 How it spreads:
• Close contact (coughing, sneezing, kissing)
• Sharing drinks, utensils, or toothbrushes
• Living in close quarters

💊 How it’s treated:
• Viral – often improves with rest, fluids & pain relief
• Bacterial – medical emergency 🚨 needs urgent antibiotics in hospital

⚠️ Who’s at risk:
• Babies & young children
• Teenagers & young adults
• Older adults
• People with weakened immune systems
• Those not vaccinated

🧪 The glass test:
Press a clear glass firmly against a rash.
• If the rash DOES NOT fade → seek emergency help immediately 🚨
• If it fades → still monitor closely and get medical advice

🚨 When to seek help:
If symptoms appear, especially with a non-fading rash, act fast and seek emergency care.

💉 Prevention:
• Vaccination is the best protection
• Good hygiene habits
• Avoid sharing personal items

📢 Trust your instincts — meningitis can progress quickly. Early treatment saves lives.

You wash your face every day… but when was the last time you washed your pillowcase? 👀

Your pillowcase collects oil, sweat, dead skin cells, and bacteria night after night — all of which can clog pores, trigger breakouts, and even irritate your skin and scalp. Clean skin + dirty pillowcase = fighting a losing battle.

Switching to a fresh pillowcase 1–2 times a week can help:
✨ Reduce acne flare-ups
✨ Prevent skin irritation
✨ Keep your hair fresher longer
✨ Improve overall hygiene

Small habit. Big glow-up. 🛏️💧
