With summer approaching, it’s important to remember your skin needs protection too ☀️
🔍 Check your moles regularly:
Remember ABCDE
• A – Asymmetry: one half doesn’t match the other
• B – Border: irregular, blurred, or jagged edges
• C – Colour: multiple shades or uneven tone
• D – Diameter: larger than 6mm (about a pencil eraser)
• E – Evolving: any change in size, shape, colour, or sensation
Also watch for:
• Sores that don’t heal
• Redness or swelling beyond a mole
• Itching, tenderness, or pain
• Bleeding or oozing
🧴 How to protect your skin:
• Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (UVA & UVB protection) every day
• Apply 15–30 minutes before sun exposure
• Don’t forget ears, neck, scalp parting, hands & lips
• Reapply every 2 hours (and after swimming/sweating)
• Use about a shot glass amount for full body coverage
• Check expiry dates, old sunscreen won’t protect properly
🌿 Extra protection tips:
• Seek shade between 11am–3pm (peak UV hours)
• Wear UPF clothing, wide-brim hats & UV-blocking sunglasses
• Be extra careful near water, sand, and snow—they reflect UV rays
• Avoid sunbeds - they significantly increase skin cancer risk
• Vitamin D is important, but safer through diet/supplements if needed
🔍 Make skin checks a habit:
• Check your skin once a month in good lighting
• Use a mirror (or ask someone) for hard-to-see areas
• Take photos to track changes over time
• If in doubt, get it checked by a professional
Protect now, glow later ✨ Your future self will thank you 💛
