Yoga, Pranayama & Kriya: Detox & Recharge
Saturday 24th January 2026 | 1:00–3:00 pm

Join us for a deeply nourishing 2-hour yoga workshop designed to cleanse, calm and revitalise your whole system. This session will focus on powerful yet accessible pranayama (breathing techniques) and kriya practices to support natural detoxification, improve energy flow and settle the mind.

Kriya in yoga refers to a set of cleansing and energising practices designed to purify the body, balance the nervous system, and improve the flow of prana (life force).

The workshop will also include slow, deep yoga stretches and twists to release tension and restore balance, followed by a 15-minute guided meditation to integrate the practice and leave you feeling grounded, refreshed and recharged.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, with options to rest throughout. No prior experience of pranayama or kriya is required.

Come as you are — leave feeling lighter, clearer and deeply restored.

£30 (book by January 15th for early booking fee of £20)

Happy Dhanteras!

Today marks the beginning of Diwali and honours Dhanvantari, the God of Ayurveda, the divine healer and physician, associated with the Ayurvedic system of medicine. As the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, he is celebrated for his contributions to health and well-being. Dhanvantari is depicted carrying a pot of amrita (nectar of immortality) in one hand and a medical instrument in the other, symbolising his role for humanity in both healing and immortality.

Dhanvantari’s life and teachings underscore the importance of health, medicine, and holistic wellness, embodying the divine aspect of healing and the restoration of balance in life.

A chant to Lord Dhanvantari to destroy illness, grant good health snd protect from fear is:

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaaya
Dhanvantaraye Amrita-kalasha Hastaaya,
Sarva-maya Vinashaaya Trailokya Naathaya,
Shri Maha-vishnave Namaha

ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय धन्वन्तरये अमृतकलश हस्ताय सर्वभय विनाशाय त्रैलोक्यनाथाय श्री महाविष्णवे नमः

Meaning: “I bow down to Lord Dhanvantari, the Lord with four hands carrying a conch, a discus, a leech, and a pot of nectar. His divine play destroys all diseases.”

On this day dedicated to health and well-being may your life shine brighter than gold and your heart glow with joy.

✨ Sunday service ✨

Some beautiful gifts were waiting for me at the allotment today. I have harvested oak choi, spinach, rainbow chard, broccoli, green beans and wild nettles. The pumpkins I pulled up last time I came are turning orange which is exciting. I’ll tell the mother-in-law not to buy sprouts for Christmas dinner as it looks like we’re going to have a huge supply! 🎃 🌱 🥒

I had neglected it for about three weeks due to heavy workload (and laziness) but, as the universe teaches, even with the least effort, nature, including us mere mortals, keep breathing and thriving. We don’t need much. Just sunshine, water and a little love ❤️

Happy Sunday x

This morning, we welcomed a very keen, new member to our group. Little Teddy struggled to find stillness in his poses and it will take some time to learn how to still the fluctuations of the mind, like most of us, not helped by the passing dog, bird, squirrel, person, and basically, anything at all. Definitely a vata imbalance going on here but all in all, he stayed on the mat for a few minutes here and there.

He helped his mummy with some variations of Supta Baddhakonāsna and Supta Matsyendrasana and kept lookout while closed her eyes for a mindfulness moment. He also went and adjusted arm during Adho Mukha Svanasana.

As it was a bit drizzly, we were true yoga rebels and snuck into the beautiful bandstand for our early morning practice which was a really cool feeling especially as our oms 🕉️ at the end echoed under the roof.

Although a bit chillier this morning, the freshness of the air, combined with āsana and pranayama, was a beautiful and invigorating start to the weekend.

Happy weekend everyone x
