🌿 Gracefully Cool: A TCM Summer Ritual 🌞

If the heat has you feeling flushed, restless, or ungrounded, know that your body is whispering truths that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) understands deeply.

Summer’s fire element can stir up internal heat, showing up as:
🔥 A flushed face or burning eyes
🔥 A thirst that water doesn’t quite quench
🔥 Irritability, restlessness, or sleepless nights
🔥 Hormonal flare-ups like acne or rashes
🔥 Mouth ulcers or a bitter taste
🔥 That feeling of being just too much in your own skin

These are more than symptoms—they’re gentle signals from within, asking for cooling, yin nourishment.

✨ With carefully selected acupuncture points, we guide the fire down, soothe the heart, and invite stillness and balance to return.

In this season of intensity, allow yourself to stay soft, centered, and gracefully cool.

📍Feeling the inner heat rise? You’re not alone. Reach out to book your in-home treatment. 🌿

A point to fall in love with—Heart 7 ❤️

Also known as ‘Shenmen’ (Spirit Gate), this acupuncture point is located at the wrist crease on the little finger side. It’s known for its ability to calm the mind, ease anxiety, and open the heart to love—both for yourself and others.

Take a moment to gently massage this point today, breathe deeply, and let love flow freely.

Let me know how it feels for you 🥰

Waking Up Between 3-5 AM? ☯️

According to the Chinese Medicine Body Clock, each organ has a peak time of function. Between 3-5 AM, the Lung Meridian is most active, marking the final stage of deep sleep before waking. If you consistently wake up during these hours, it may indicate a Lung imbalance or unprocessed emotions like grief and sadness.

In TCM, the lungs play a key role in immunity, and prolonged emotional stress can weaken the body’s defenses. Those with lung conditions, such as chronic cough, may also notice worsened symptoms at this time.

✨ What to Do:

✔ Try Nerve-Soothing Breathwork – The 4-7-8 method (inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, exhale for 8) calms your nervous system and promotes relaxation.
✔ Optimise Your Sleep Environment – Sleep experts recommend bedroom temps around 18.3 degrees to promote restorative deep sleep.
✔ Process Emotions – Since the Lungs store grief and sadness, support emotional release through therapy, journaling, or talking to a loved one.
✔ Acupressure & Warmth – Gently massage ‘Lung 9’ (Taiyuan) on your wrist and sip warm herbal tea, like chamomile, before bed.
✔ Call Your Acupuncturist – A customised treatment can help rebalance your system.

Touch is more than physical—it soothes, restores, and balances. In acupuncture, each needle bridges the body and inner self, awakening deep healing across mind, body, and spirit.

🌟 Kidney 3 (Tàixī - “Supreme Stream”) 🌟
This powerhouse point is the source point of the Kidney channel, which begins at the sole of the foot and travels up the inner ankle, leg, and torso, ending just below the collarbones. Located in the depression between the inner ankle bone and the Achilles tendon, Kidney 3 directly nourishes kidney energy (Qi)—the foundation of our vitality and longevity.

🌊 In winter, the season of the Kidneys and the Water element, this point plays a vital role in maintaining balance, boosting energy, and grounding emotions. It’s especially helpful for low back pain, tinnitus, frequent urination, sore throat, and insomnia.

💧Kidney 3 also has a calming effect on fear and anxiety, the emotions tied to the Water element. It can help settle adrenalized states and support recovery from stress and trauma, grounding you for resilience and peace.

👉 Try gently massaging this point to nourish your Kidney Qi, support your energy reserves and promote emotional balance through winter ❄️
