From my early fascination with nutrition to a career in elite sports, my path to becoming a nutritional therapist has been a true roller coaster—filled with highs, challenges, and transformations. My life has spanned school days spent poring over science books (self-confessed geek), the demands and exhilaration of training at an Olympic level, and the deep joy and grounding experience of becoming a mother. Injury setbacks and the unique experiences of navigating menopause added new layers to my perspective. These were moments when I truly learned the power of nutrition and lifestyle medicine—not only as tools for peak performance but also as foundations for resilience, balance, and joy through life's changes. My functional medicine approach sees each individual as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms. Right now, my 54-year-old self is wishing this was a current picture of me.
Sadly, it’s not! But it can be my vision for 2026.

Strong, toned and fit in a way that feels supportive rather than punishing.
And that’s exactly why I’m focusing on healthy habits, not extremes.

Simple is often best, because simple is what becomes sustainable long term.

This isn’t a detox.
It’s not a meal plan.

And it’s definitely not all-or-nothing.

Just a better way to feel.

If you’re celebrating New Year’s Eve, these are the small things that genuinely help without killing the vibe:

✨ Eat before you go, especially protein
✨ Don’t arrive exhausted or under fuelled
✨ Keep drinks simple and lower in sugar
✨ Zebra striping works, one drink, one water 🦓
✨ Electrolytes before bed or the next morning
✨ A good multivitamin to replace what alcohol depletes
✨ Proper hydration, not just a token sip
✨ Expect lighter sleep and plan kindly
✨ Skip the hair of the dog
✨ Protein at breakfast steadies energy and mood
✨ Daylight and fresh air early
✨ Gentle movement, not punishment workouts

What’s trending now isn’t drinking more.
It’s drinking smarter.
Mocktails on menus
Electrolytes on bedside tables
And actually paying attention to how your body responds
