Have you heard of our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) service?
It’s our free model of care offered by Gold Coast Health for expecting mums. 🤰
MGP provides you with the same lead midwife and supporting team throughout pregnancy, labour and birth, and the early weeks following the birth of your baby. 👶
Cherie and Kendall used the service for the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Neihana, who arrived last week.
“I felt very supported and heard,” Cherie said.
“I didn’t feel like another number, I was very cared for.”
“It felt like one big team,” Kendall added.
“Having a group of midwives that’s specifically there for Cherie was great. They always communicated before they switched shifts, they came in knowing how Cherie was feeling emotionally and physically and what she needed.”
Your MGP midwife also is on-call 24 hours for emergencies and women expecting to birth. 📱
Being a first-time mum, Cherie said she was grateful for having guidance and around the clock care if she needed it.
“There’s so much information online and you don’t know how to go about it.
“I didn’t need to call my midwife during pregnancy, but it was nice to know there was someone to call if I needed it.”
Women can apply for MGP care if they are:
💪 Healthy with an uncomplicated pregnancy
🤱 Planning an active labour & birth
🏡 Happy to go home within 4 to 6 hours of birth if mum and bub are well (followed by postnatal care)
