Whether you believe in God or not, the serenity prayer are some of the wisest words to help guide your life.

You cannot change the past, so do not dwell there. Understand the lessons to be learned, put them into practice, heal yourself and move on.

Making changes within ourselves, taking control of the things that overwhelm us, is incredibly courageous. It takes strength and courage to look within and to stand back up when you don’t think you have the will to do it.

And it is important for you to understand the difference. We can waste years of our lives being angry about the things we can’t change, and procrastinating and being fearful of the things we can. Being stuck in a rut, angry and mad, when we forget, the only person we are hurting is ourselves. It’s time to stop that.
