Safer spaces mean deeper practice - especially for the vulnerable amongst us

Read through my dos and don’ts for truly trauma- and neurodivergence aware teaching.

These are brief snippets meaning to inform and raise awareness.
This list is not exhaustive, and I chose to put points that cross-over as both trauma victims and neurodivergent people often struggle with nervous system regulation so tackling down regulation is important for both.

What would you add?

Some days my mind feels like this picture —
a hundred possible things to do, all shouting for my attention, everything feels urgent.

I want to start. I could start.
But I can’t choose where to begin.
So nothing moves.

This is called executive dysfunction — when the act of choosing feels harder than doing.
It can happen to anyone during times of stress, fatigue, or big life changes.
It’s more common if you’re neurodivergent, i.e. autism or adhd, but no one is immune.

In nervous system terms, it’s like having all the green lights on at once but no single lane to drive down.

The way out isn’t to “push through” — it’s to choose one small act.

Start anywhere. Movement gathers momentum.

———
And if nothing works a short meditation or qigong practice helps clear the mind and gain perspective.

Send me a dm with “action” and I’ll send you a short qigong practice to settle the mind.

Movement as Medicine – for Sensitive Systems

Whether you’re navigating hypermobility, neurodivergence, or simply feeling overwhelmed—movement can be your anchor.

x Yoga to soothe the nervous system, support lymph flow, and reconnect with breath
x Mobility with weights to build joint stability and resilient fascia—without overstimulation
x Chanting to regulate vagal tone, enhance self-awareness and identity, and process emotion gently

This is not about pushing through a workout — it’s about moving with your body into a feeling of connection.
A nervous system-friendly approach to strength, fluidity, and inner calm.

✨ For the sensitive, the bendy, the burnt-out.
✨ For those learning to feel safe in their bodies again.

Follow for practices designed for hypermobile & neurodivergent bodies like myself

What if the wisest among us says little, moves gently, and rules nothing at all?

In the Daoist way, the Sage doesn’t impose.
He flows.
Not through dominance, but through deep attunement.
Not through promises, but presence.

In Daoism, wisdom isn’t loud.
It’s patient. Peaceful. Powerfully present.

These reflections from Lieh-Tzu remind us:
True power is quiet.
And a heart at ease is the greatest form of leadership.

🌊 Breathe it in. Let it land.
