Baking is my way to return to the present moment —
a quiet ritual that anchors me in the here and now.

Each time I tend to my natural yeast,
my living sourdough starter, my little companion,
it feels like a celebration of Mother Nature herself —
alive, unpredictable, and full of grace.

Autumn and winter are never kind to dough.
The chill slows its rise;
the outcome remains a mystery
until the loaf emerges from the oven,
and the first cut reveals its heart.

Baking reminds me to welcome uncertainty,
to trust the unseen,
and to embrace all the possibilities
this unpredictable world has to offer

There’s a common misconception that meditation requires sitting cross-legged on the floor. In reality, meditation can be much more flexible and accessible than you might think. You can meditate while lying down, standing, or even during your daily commute on a bus or train. The key is finding a comfortable posture that allows you to remain relaxed and alert.

If you choose to sit, ensure your spine is straight but not stiff, your shoulders relaxed, and your hands resting naturally. Whether on a chair or cushion, maintaining gentle alignment supports focused breathing and mindfulness. But the most important aspect of meditation is the quality of attention you bring, not the position you take.

Make meditation a part of your life wherever you are, and experience calm and clarity throughout your day.

很多人誤以為冥想必須盤腿而坐。實際上,冥想可以更靈活進行。無論是躺著、站著,還是在通勤路上,都可以進行冥想。關鍵是找到一個舒適的姿勢,讓自己既放鬆又保持專注。如果選擇坐著,確保脊柱保持挺直但不僵硬,肩膀放鬆,雙手自然放置。不論是在椅子上或坐墊上,保持身體放鬆有助於專注呼吸和覺察。但冥想最重要的是你投入的專注力,而不是採取的姿勢。讓冥想成為你生活的一部分,無論身處何地,都能體驗內心的寧靜與清晰。

In today’s busy world, many of us operate on “autopilot,” with our minds drifting toward the past or future rather than staying present. This habitual state can lead to significant negative consequences in both our personal and professional lives.

When living on autopilot, we often lose awareness of how our moods influence and colour our experiences. Our desires and aversions unconsciously shape how we respond to people and situations, leading to automatic reactions rather than thoughtful choices. This lack of mindfulness can also make us unaware of the tension and stress carried within our bodies, which may accumulate over time and impact our health.

Beyond the personal toll, many positive and potentially pleasant moments pass unnoticed, diminishing our overall life satisfaction. In a business context, this distraction can cause us to miss crucial information, affecting decision-making and outcomes.
Recognizing these risks underscores the importance of cultivating mindfulness—a practice that anchors us in the present, fosters emotional clarity, and enhances our engagement with the world around us.
