You’re stuck because you’re scared of leaving your comfort zone. The areas outside of your comfort zone aren’t friendly…but guess what? Although they are designed to create the illusion of “impossibility”, there’s nothing you can’t achieve if you have faith, work smart and hard.

If your first instinct is to blame, shame and force a victim to narrate a story again and again, then you have a serious problem.

That’s not to say that people don’t lie, but you work to prove that the truth might be a lie, not that a confession is outrightly a lie and you’re trying to find some truth in it.

In today’s day and age, common sense demands that you do not judge a book by its cover. That you don’t believe a confession, doesn’t make it a lie.

A while ago I made a post about testifying at the expense of victims.

“..there were 20 people on the bus, I was the only one that survived.. hallelujah!”

Amen!
Yes you did!
Yes it’s great to testify and rejoice about God’s divine intervention in your life.
But the harmful consequences of giving these types of testimonies without recognizing, respecting, empathising and praying for those who were unfortunate, is that it promotes these narratives:
- the victims deserved it
- it was their time to die
- God loves you more than the others
- they didn’t pray enough
- God will sacrifice other people to protect you. Yes, you’re so special but they’re not.

That’s foolishness at its peak.

So a supposed craft hovers around a building and contributes to its collapse, and what your pastor can say is “…. Don’t be scared, you are not the target! I’m the target! My hour has not come! Bla bla bla!”. Basically making everything about himself and more to come……
