What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment commonly used for irritated or persistent tendon pain.
It works by delivering sound waves to the affected area, helping stimulate healing within the tendon.
It’s often used for conditions such as Achilles tendon pain or tennis elbow, and is typically delivered as a short course of treatments over several weeks.
Importantly, shockwave therapy works best when combined with a well-structured strengthening programme to address the underlying tendon load.
