We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Bill Smith, Head of CDS, has been awarded an OBE for his exceptional contribution to Women’s Healthcare. The honour was presented by HRH Princess Anne at an Investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on 18th December 2024.

Clinical Diagnostic Services is delighted to announce that its founder Bill Smith has been awarded an OBE in King Charles III’s Honours List announced today, 15th June 2024.

Announced on the King’s official birthday, his OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) has been given as public recognition for “those who have made a significant contribution to women’s healthcare”.

On receiving an OBE, Bill said:

“It is an incredible honour to be recognised for my work over the past 45 years in diagnostic ultrasound. I have always done my job purely to help those who need it, so to be given an award as well is truly wonderful.”

CDS has been working with gynaecologists advocating the use of progesterone in the treatment of our patients for decades, and we're so pleased to see NICE now promoting it's use too.

CDS has also developed advanced ultrasound technology which is able to pick up patients who have a high risk of needing progesterone, and has extensive experience in this area.
