In diaspora, care often disappears,
not because people don’t care, but because life becomes rushed, cold, and individualised.

So, what is the antidote?
I say, slow down. Take time to breathe. Rest, cultivate new relationships/friendships.

You are not here to work. You are here to live. To love and to Thrive!

Your Body Didn’t Get Weak. Your Geography Changed.”

I’ve been thinking about something many of us don’t talk about enough.

Many people in the diaspora quietly feel that their bodies have “changed” after moving.
Digestion. Energy. Sleep. Joints. Mood. Even appetite.
And the first instinct is usually self-blame.
“I must not be eating well.”
“I’m probably not disciplined enough.”
“Maybe I’m just getting older.”

But here’s another angle we rarely consider:

What if your body didn’t get weak —what if your geography changed?

Different climate.
Different sunlight.
Different food quality.
Different seasons.
Different pace of life.

Your body has memory. Long memory.
It knows heat. It knows rhythm. It knows certain foods and certain ways of resting.

So when you move continents, the body adapts, but adaptation isn’t silent.
It speaks. Sometimes through discomfort.

That doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you.
It means something is different.

This page exists to have these conversations without panic or shame.
Not to romanticise the past — and not to pretend the present has no cost.

Just honest conversations about how to live well away from home.

If this resonates, you’re not alone.

And no, you’re not imagining things.

What changed in your body or health after you moved countries, even if you couldn’t explain it at the time?

You’re Not Broken — You’re Displaced

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance your body has been trying to tell you something.

Maybe digestion hasn’t been the same since you left home.
Maybe winter hits you harder than it “should”.
Maybe your joints, sleep, mood, or energy feel off, and every test says you’re “fine”.

Let me say this gently and clearly:
you’re not weak, broken, or failing at health.

Many of us in the diaspora are living in bodies designed for a different climate, food system, rhythm, and way of life. When geography changes, the body notices, even if medicine doesn’t always have language for it.

This space exists to talk honestly about that.

Not with fear.
Not with shame.
And not with perfection.

Here, we’ll explore how displacement affects the body, how ancestral wisdom still applies (with adaptation), and how to listen to symptoms as messages, not enemies.

I’m not here as a guru or healer.
I’m here as someone walking this path too, learning, remembering, adapting.

If you’ve ever felt like your body didn’t get the memo that you moved continents…
you’re in the right place.

Welcome home.
