We’re so pleased to share that Ally Cares has been named a finalist in the Technology and AI category at the UK Dementia Awards 2026.

It’s an award focused on technology that genuinely improves life for people living with dementia, supporting safer care, better rest, and greater dignity. We’re proud to be part of that conversation.

Good luck to all the finalists, we’re looking forward to celebrating on 30 April 💙 https://journalofdementiacare.co.uk/award/2026-technology-and-ai-in-dementia-award

A good day doesn’t start in the morning, it starts the night before.

Sleep shapes how someone feels, eats, moves, and engages, which means small changes overnight can make a real difference to the day that follows.

It’s simple, but easy to overlook. Have a watch and read the Sleep Gap report for more info:https://www.careengland.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/The-Sleep-Gap-The-Overlooked-Factor-Costing-Lives-Time-and-Trust-in-Care-Report.pdf

Care isn’t made up of separate problems to solve. Everything is connected. When one area improves, others often follow. When one breaks down, the impact is rarely contained.

More homes are starting to step back and look at care more holistically, focusing on the foundations that support residents day to day. It’s a simple shift in thinking, but it can make a real difference.

Can better nights change more than just how residents feel?

More care homes are discovering that when residents are properly supported overnight, it creates a ripple effect across the whole home, from day-to-day wellbeing to longer-term stability.

It’s a different way of thinking about care and this short animation brings the idea to life.

in London is coming up in just under 3 weeks, and we’re really looking forward to being part of it again.

We’ll be on Stand F40, sharing what we’re seeing across care homes and how small changes, particularly at night, are making a bigger difference than many expect. If you’re going, do come and find us.

Our CEO and Co-Founder, Tom will also be speaking on 29 April at 15:50 in the Keynote Theatre about the four pillars that underpin healthier life in care so do come along if you’re there! https://www.careshowlondon.co.uk/2026-conference-programme

We talk a lot about knowing our residents, but how complete is that understanding really?

Much of care is built around observation and experience, and rightly so, but there are aspects of a person’s routine and wellbeing that don’t always present themselves in obvious ways. As more providers begin to look beyond the visible, they are discovering insights that reshape how they think about behaviour, support and day-to-day care.

It is not about adding complexity, but about seeing more clearly, and that clarity can make a real difference to how care is delivered.

If you are curious about what might be missing from the picture, this article is well worth a read.

“Peace of mind” means something different when it’s your mum.

Families don’t just want to know their loved one is being cared for, they want to feel it.

When that trust is there, everything changes. The worry eases, confidence grows, and families can finally step back knowing their loved one is in the right place.

Christine’s story brings that feeling to life.

Whether you’re working, visiting loved ones or taking a moment to pause, we hope the weekend brings some calm and a few lighter moments.

Real change in care doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens when teams feel supported enough to question old habits, try something new and trust that a different approach could work better.

That mindset is what separates gradual improvement from meaningful change.

This short clip brings that idea to life.
