I was presented with a horse with sidebone so with a bit of elbow grease and knowledge I made and put on a pair of sidebone shoes. The horse is a 10 year old Cob cross which has had heavy road work. The horse is now after 2 weeks showing much improvement on soundness , both horse owner and farrier are very happy.

Presented to me today, a barefoot horse that is not coping with the hard ground very well. So my shoeing plan of action, was to apply a pair of front shoes to allow more cover and protect the sole of the foot. I am not against bare foot but with this current hot weather the ground is to hard for the amount of work the horse is doing.

A pair made out the back of the van. Just what the horse ordered. Always carry bar stock in the van so if I get a horse like this with funny sized feet I can make a bespoke pair just for them 🐴😃🐴
