What better way to take a break in your Christmas shopping than meeting some of our incredible donor dogs? 💖 They can’t wait to say hello and we’d love to tell you more about how your dog could give the ultimate gift this Christmas by helping to save lives 🐶🩸

Free dog blood typing session in Banbury! 🐶🩸

📅 Tuesday 16 December
📍 Hawthorne Lodge Vets - Banbury
🕛 11am - 4pm

Just like humans, dogs have different blood types. At this session, we will take a small blood sample from your dog's leg or neck and run a quick test to find out their blood type. Knowing this information is really helpful should your dog ever need a lifesaving blood transfusion 🩸

You'll also have the opportunity to speak to our team and find out about the work we do. And, as always at Pet Blood Bank, there will be treats and fuss galore! Maybe even a toy to take home too...

To be eligible, dogs need to be:
✔️ between 1 and 8
✔️ weigh over 25kg
✔️ fit and healthy

Say hello to Brontë the Flat-Coated Retriever 🐶⭐

Born on April Fool's Day 2023, she's been keeping her family entertained ever since! Her signature prank is transforming her toys into a squad of one-legged sidekicks 🤣

Flat-Coats are known for being super friendly and affectionate. They're also more likely to have negative blood type which can be given to any dog in an emergency, and Brontë ticks all those boxes ✅🩸

When she's not busy dishing out a generous helping of licks, you'll find her out on a country walk or going for a swim in the nearest body of water 🌊

Brontë's owner Rachel told us: 'We decided to make Brontë a blood donor after picking up a leaflet at our local vets. They'd recently had a client whose dog received two lifesaving transfusions. I also have a close friend whose beloved spaniel’s life was saved by a blood transfusion. I thought Brontë would probably have the right personality to become a donor and when we read that her breed was sought after, we got in touch.'

Brontë joined our lifesaving pack in April and donates at Hawthorne Lodge Vets in Banbury. We’re so proud to celebrate her as the August star of our 2026 lifesaver calendar 🥰
