Here I am – 06/08/25.
One month until Luton Comic Con.
One month until X-4RCE turns two.
One month until a new season begins managing my daughter’s football team.
And one month until I finish my second year at university studying psychology, ready to begin my third year this October.
If you’d told me five years ago that this would be my life, I would’ve laughed in your face.
But here I am.
And I didn’t get here by luck, or by myself. I got here because I had support. From my family. From my friends. And most importantly, from my church. When I wanted to give up, they believed in me, and that belief helped me believe in myself.
My name’s Wade Wilson. I left school with no GCSEs. I spent my 20s wrecking my life with drugs. I hit rock bottom at 30, suffering a massive mental breakdown.
But I chose a different path. I left that life behind. I fought to be better. And today, I’m proud to say I’m the founder of two rising community organisations. I’m a student. A father. A husband. A Christian.
If I can make it, so can you.
