Research published in the Journal of Sports and Health Science (2025) emphasised the importance of physical activity on brain health after a 12 month aerobic exercise programme. 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise/week in adulthood resulted in brain mri scan images appearing nearly 1 year younger than those of a control group (Wan et al, 2025).
