Willow Counselling Cheshire

Willow Counselling Cheshire Are you looking for a safe space to explore your feelings, heal wounds & build your resilience to whatever life may bring?

Hello, I’m Shani & I offer a non-judgmental counselling service to guide you on your journey towards positive change in your life. Hello, I’m Shani (pronounced Shaynee). I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the Person-Centered model of counselling, meaning I believe that everyone has the ability to rebuild themselves and flourish. I

am also a qualified British School of Meditation Teacher meaning I can offer alternative ways to manage stress, tune into your inner calm and ultimately, find peace in your life. I offer a warm, non-judgmental counselling service, and a helping hand to guide you on your journey towards self-awareness and positive change. I believe you are the master of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, offering perspective, reflection and emotional support when needed. Authenticity from both counsellor and client will be vital as we explore your feelings, current & past experiences, and challenges so that you may gain a fresh outlook and understanding of yourself. I offer a complimentary 30 minute telephone conversation or face-to- face meeting at my therapy room in Prestbury, Cheshire - this is a chance for you to ask me any questions, and will also help us determine how we might work together. Please email me to arrange a mutually convenient date and time. My purpose-built, confidential counselling space is designed to promote feelings of comfort, wellbeing, and tranquility.

“Reparenting is the radical act of giving yourself now what you needed most back then.”

Sometimes the hardest part of healing is recognising that what we grew up with doesn’t have to be our blueprint.
You are allowed to question it. Change it. Heal it. This is how the cycle ends. 🌿

A calm corner, right here in the village 🪴
When you begin therapy, it’s not just about the conversation - it’s also about how safe, grounded and supported you feel in the room you’re in.

This is my therapy space. Calm, warm, and intentionally designed to help you slow down, exhale, and feel at ease.

Whether you’re working through anxiety, navigating difficult relationships, or simply feeling a little lost, this space is here to hold you.

I offer 1:1 therapy in person (right here in Prestbury village), and also work with teens and young adults, women struggling with self-worth, or anyone seeking a little more peace in their life.

If this space feels like somewhere you could begin, feel free to message me or visit the link in my bio to find out more.

Client Testimonial - Shared anonymously with their permission 🙏 “Counselling with you has given me the confidence to trust myself, my decisions, and other people. I feel more relaxed and prepared for what might happen in the future, whereas before I was filled with anxiety.”

It’s okay if you haven’t figured it all out yet… No one hands you a roadmap for your life when you’re younger 🗺️ You’re expected to know who you are, what you want, how to set boundaries, how to be in healthy relationships -
but no one really teaches you those things.

So if you feel lost, overwhelmed, or like you’re “behind”… you’re not broken. You’re just human. And maybe a little tired of trying to hold it all together.

Therapy can be the space where you finally exhale. Where you untangle the overthinking, learn how to trust yourself, and start moving at your own pace - not everyone else’s.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. You just have to be willing to start.

If this speaks to you, you’re not alone. And I’d be honored to walk with you 🤍 Message me to book in your first session for free. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Picking a therapist can feel difficult. I always say it’s a bit like online dating as you scroll through hundreds of photos and profiles online never really getting a feel for the person until you meet them. And then even when you meet, you might not ‘click’. To try and help with this, I offer a free introductory 30 minute session either in person or on Zoom. Hopefully this will help you decide whether you think we can work well together. Also, I’m happy to share a bit more about me:

I am a Mummy to a 3 year old human and two 4 year old fur babies. This one here is the beautiful fluffball Bumble 😻 As well as running my private practice, I also volunteer in a prison counselling female inmates where I also did my training. I have been through the divorce of my parents in my teens, my own divorce, pregnancy & birth trauma during the pandemic, work stress, relationship problems (to name a few). My point being, my life experiences help me to help you and we’re all a work in progress! 📸 by

‘She had not known the weight until she felt the freedom!’ My first ever client once used a really helpful metaphor in a session with me and it’s something I’ll never forget. She said ‘It feels like I’m constantly carrying around a heavy bag on my back but when I leave our sessions, it feels a little bit lighter.’ So we continued to use this metaphor and took it further, saying that in each session, I would help her remove the heavy bag and unpack some of the things weighing it down in the hope that it would get lighter every time. Therapy can help relieve the heaviness of life and past events, meaning that you can feel more freedom in your future. This quote sums that up perfectly 🤍

What therapy is all about! I’ll be honest, I had to read this a couple of times but when you get your head around it, it makes perfect sense. Getting better at feeling means we’re not ignoring our emotions any more and instead, being honest with others and most importantly, ourselves! When you start to notice your feelings more (self-awareness), try not to label them as good or bad, just allow them to come and go. Be kind to yourself 🤍

And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

It’s a common joke that your therapist will always ask ‘How do you feel about that?’ That’s because it’s my job to validate your feelings and perhaps even encourage you to talk about them for the first time! In therapy sessions, you have a safe space to explore all of your emotions without the risk of judgement or negative response. The self awareness that comes with this ability to be vulnerable can be life changing. Have you ever wanted to tell someone how you feel but can’t find the words? Felt scared to say it? Worried about the reply? I can help you with that.

Feel free to contact me for a complimentary 30 minute session to find out more.

Read that again! YOU…really do deserve to be happy.

I have a poster of this up on the shelf in my therapy room so it faces every client who sits on my sofa. I also have to look at it every time I walk through the door so it’s MY daily reminder too. Such an important message!
